Former Sheffield Wednesday defender Mark Smith has been appointed as 'international youth director' with neighbours Sheffield United.

Smith, who has worked in academy coaching roles for the Owls and Barnsley, will be looking to capitalise on growing links with China, Belgium, Brazil, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica and the Ivory Coast.
