From the BBC:

Port Vale agree deals with Sheffield United duo

Port Vale have agreed deals with four new players as Micky Adams shapes his squad for the new season.

Sheffield United defender Kingsley James, 19, has agreed a 12-month contract while fellow Blade, left-back Phil Roe, 19, signs for six-months.

Centre-half Clayton McDonald, 22, has also agreed to join for six months after leaving League One side Walsall.

Left-back Mike Green, 22, joins from Zamaretto Premier side AFC Totton on a two-year contract.

Midfielder Gary Roberts has also agreed a new one-year contract.

Adams said: "These are young players who I feel can add something to the squad next season."

Good luck to them, they obviously made an impression on Micky then and look, Micky is happily signing youngsters

Hang on one cotton-pickin' minute....

Didn't someone on here say that Adams bombed them out of the Lane, and the new regime gave them a second chance?

I'm confuddled.

Unless Mickey is really a closet Port Vale fan and he has just pulled of the most cunning, albeit long winded poaching exercise ever commited.

That's a very interesting consideration. He might have taken a few items of stationary from the office too in the weeks leading up to his sacking. Or indeed taken the entire office - hence why Wilson had to 'relocate' it to the John Street Stand when he arrived.

Poor Swiss, really, really poor. What a waste of your 5,000th post - waxing lyrical about what might have been with Alehouse.

Nope, just merely pointing out that he can bring in youngsters and he must've made an impression on these lads.

Though not a big enough impression for them to warrant a place in our first team last season. He clearly saw League 2 potential in them - good luck to both.

Perhaps Loughboro or perhaps too young and inexperienced to throw into a shakey back 4

How did you know that Loughboro?
Is that so he's closer to Hillsboro?
