Can Blackwell justify having Naysmith, Stewart and Taylor at the club next season?
I don't think he can. Naysmith will leave at the end of his contract and although he'll have to take a pay cut, he will still get better offers from elsewhere.
It will be a loss on the footballing side but United have done reasonably well without him this year and will be a good saving on wages.
I don't think he could justify having three players for one position in our situation.
The depressing thing is, out of all three left backs, Naysmith's by far the most likely to leave because he's out of contract. There's no way Taylor will be sold IMO and Stewart's probably going to miss the start of the season if my fears are correct and it's a criciate ligament injury, in which case no one would touch him (it would've been hard enough to get rid anyway, not least because he's on a big wage).
Naysmith will probably go because we won't be able to shift Stewart or Taylor. And because we'll have two left backs on our books, in our financial situation we won't be bringing another one in. Guess what our problem position's going to be next season.......................
