May be wrong but wasn’t this voted on before our defense really tightened up.

Bit surprised but we do have the 3rd best defence tbf and for most of the season aside from Boro we have conceded the fewest goals from open play.

Think that may have only changed in the last 2 or 3 games.

Dont know when votes were taken but very pleased Pablo has been recognised.

Will be announced at 3 pm.

Lets put our guesses is now - 5 points per correct player.

League 2 team is based on a 4-3-3 formation so lets go with that;

GK - Dean Henderson

RB - Max Aarons
LB - Jamal Lewis
CB - Reece James
CB - Liam Cooper

M - Jack Grealish
M - Oliver Norwood
M - Pablo Hernandez

S - Teemu Pukki
S - Che Adams
S - Tammy Abraham

8/11 not bad

Do goals not from open play not count then?

We've conceded joint fewest goals with Boro and had the most clean sheets.

Something's wrong, Jansson and Cooper selected over Egan and Jack? We've the best defence in the Championship, yet they select players who conceded more goals?
Its the players who vote for it, they arent looking at stats, its who they have found to be their toughest opponent.

The centre-backs selection is laughable really.

To my mind, Jansson and Cooper are a glaring weak link in the Leeds side. They are both the style of clod-hopping centre-halves which convinced me that Brentford with their quick and clever players would be problematic for Leeds and the reason why Villa with their potent attack, will be too much for Leeds. That's not to mention how Bill mastered them at Elland Road.

There must be literally dozens of centre-halves in the Championship, who I'd have ahead of those two. I'd rather have Millwall's Cooper over Leeds' Cooper, for a start.

They do but if its the PFA does that mean players vote?

Just found Jansson and Cooper very hard to play against?

Norwich are crap defensively as are Villa, bit surprised one of the Boro lot aren't in there.

Sorry, we're going to struggle to hear anything you say over the leeds are falling apart chants :)

You better beat Ipswich mate.

The amount of crowing on here reminds me of us prior to Wigan.

Understandable but you never know:p

Admire your confidence in beating Villa, not sure I'd feel the same after the second half on Monday. :D

If you include Allioski for Leeds playing out of position at the back then Leeds' defence have scored more, but he scored most of them you'd imagine when he was playing in his normal winger position.

Between Hendo, Bash, Balcock, Egan, JOC, and Enda there's 11 goals and 13 assists.

Between Peacock-Falafel, Casilla, Cooper, Jansson, Ayling, and Douglas there's 8 goals and 13 assists, but we've let 7 less in.

If you swap Douglas for Allioski then they'd have scored more (but as I said, has he scored them from the back?) but a defence is there to stop people scoring and we've done that better on the easily available stats. Maybe it looks different on chances blocked or summat. Dunno.

I'd feel overlooked though if I was a United defender.

The actual players clearly rate Leeds' defence much more highly than I do.
Leeds are brilliant in attack but a car crash in defense. Pontus and Cooper are immobile with supertanker turning circles. They’re the main reason Leeds have fkd up their season.

You're right Cjay, but from our perspective it was a remarkable weekend. You couldn't have scripted events, so naturally some of us are pumped up, think it would be the same for most teams. Of course we have to win on Saturday, and given the number of games left, goal difference is no longer something we have to worry about.

Seriously, if it's the play-offs for you guys I hope you do it. I hope you also buy a forward who can guarantee you goals, they're the most vital part of the equation, but I suspect you know this already. Meant what I said about Jansson though, think he's a liability, look how Sharp pulled the strings over your CH's recently?

Lots to imagine though, and I'm far from counting our chickens just yet. We've put ourselves in a fantastic position and I hope you can appreciate why there's a feeling of buoyancy at this end.

It's ok if we do, because you won't beat Villa . I'd be very surprised if you managed to beat the dog & duck the way you're playing at the moment:p

Well there's a surprise:

Norwich and Leeds dominate PFA Championship Team of the Year

(Sponsored by Quest and Calendat News). Fuck 'em. They've been playing us down all season. Norwich? Maybe, but bottlers fucking Leeds?

Predictable I nailed it earlier in the thread. (Post no 11)

Even more reason to put out a statement the next two weeks on Live TV.

Do you think you'll beat Villa?
Pressure does funny things, we dont expect the autos anymore, the players dont, they have had a while to come to terms with that.

If (and its a big if i realise that) but if come Saturday night autos are suddenly back on that sort of boost could give renewed hope and crucially confidence to a side that have looked lacking over the Easter weekend.

In short yes, i think we will beat Villa if you dont beat Ipswich.

1st half was decent:D

Beat them once, beat WBA when they were on i think 9 wins out of 10 away.

Footballing gods do like to throw in curve balls;)

Oh it was i understand the pumped up stuff and what not.

That Wigan game will haunt me should we not get promoted and for you it was if Carlsberg did weekends.

Fully expect you to beat Ipswich tbf and if you do then credit for keeping your nerve.

But when we went 1-0 up against 10 man Wigan you surely expected that was it for that game? Bizarre things have happened this season.

Injuries, bad luck, arrogance, all sorts of things have cost us so far. Feel a bit sorry for Bamford tbf because his record goals wise is decent but maybe doesnt fit our style although a better all round player then Roofe imo. Jansson is an odd one, he has games where he is a 1 man defence but at times a total liability, Sharp is a clever old fox tbf, been around a long time and knows what he is doing.

I do of course, was the same before we played Wigan, i get it, probably more annoyed about how we let it go tbh.

If results go as expected you will be promoted soon enough and will deserbe it, but we have to cling on to that bit of hope, if the top 3 last season can all drop points on the last day against relegation candidates then you can to Ipswich.

If you dont then fair play for lasting the pace, i do wonder how the Prem would react to the overlapping cbs, would you adapt, would you spend big, many questions.

I'll remind you of this post when we do to Villa what we did to WBA at Elland Road and Ipswich do to you what they did to you last time:p:p

Villa are going to lose sooner or later.

Don’t think there’s any way we’ll lose to Ipswich but a draw is not impossible.
If we fail to win....then it will give a massive boost to Leeds.....the players will know they have a lifeline.
Villa are likely to lose sooner or later....they’re already in the play-offs so don’t think be totally focussed.
Can definitely see Leeds beating Villa.

Then it would be down to the last match with us 1 point in front.
We have a history of it all going pear shaped on the final day.

It wouldn’t be outrageous for us to be beating Stoke 1-0 at half time with Leeds drawing 0-0 at half-time.
You go on to beat Ipswich 2-0 and we concede against Stoke 3 minutes from time and end up drawing 1-1.
Hope i’m wrong but the above is your best chance and would mean you’ve pipped us by 1 point.

If we beat Ipswich on Saturday then it’s all over, there’s no way you’re beating Villa and Ipswich by a combined 9 goals.
A crumb of comfort to Leeds fans is we have often messed up (usually with bad luck) when we play a massive game at home in front of a full house. When there’s massive expectation the footballing Gods always find a way to torment us.

Personally I think the footballing Gods that have been punishing us for so long seem to be scared of Chris Wilder,
suspect we’ll beat Ipswich 2 or 3-0.
