Tough away trip today as we travel to Peterborough in a match I assume is on? Great result for our lads last Saturday, while Posh also had a good win, but their form remains very erratic as they sit just above mid table. They seem perfectly capable of scoring a few, but equally capable of getting a thumping now and again, therefore I hope today is one of those 'now' days.....

Anyway...

Any team news?

EEL fit to play?

Or Basham coming in to replace?

Riley and O'Shea sure to feature?

Keep it otherwise unchanged? Especially up front? :)

Quietly confident today, even though up against a decent side. I'm always more nervous of sides much nearer the bottom, though this season (on the whole) we seem to have banished that spectre for now....

Anyway, if we play to our strengths, and with the backup available from the bench, today could be a very satisfying day. Posh are unlikely to 'park the bus' so the potential is there for an open attacking game (cue 0-0?). Safe journey lads and lasses and bring us the 3 points back with a 5-2 Blades win. We can point blame for the 2 conceded later..... :)

5 - 2. Time 4.45pm today . Kiss of death . Why are we so daft .

Expecting a very good game of football today. When comparing the strength of the 2 squads and where we each are in the table a neutral would fancy us hands down but we are just recovering from a blip whilst their form is hugely inconsistent.

Could go either way but I think we will just about have too much for them. Won't be easy though.

Going to be as much about desire as skill today if it's as miserable down there as it is in WF3 right now.

Important fixture in many ways, not least it being our first away game since the hammering at Walsall, a win today and it could set us up for the most important month of the season with great confidence. A defeat and doubts will creep in again.

Would like Basham and Lavery to start today. Height wise I think we could get away with it, they're not a big side, and in an open game I'd fancy pace and mobility to serve us better.

A win today would be huge because it'd take the pressure off the Bristol Rovers game and set the rest of the month up perfectly and give us confidence. It would be a bonus win. But I do fancy us.

Have they still got that lad Samuel on loan from West Ham ?

Martin Samuelsen, yes, but he's not been starting.

Hoping that Marcus Maddison, who I have banged on about as a player suggestion, has a bad game!

We are not top of the league by good luck, we need to keep faith in the team. I was at Walsall and I am sure the team and CW don't want that t happen again.

Setting off around midday, UTB!

I can remember last season leaving the ground fairly convinced that:
  • Adkins would take us up
  • Sammon and Sharp were going to be a formidable partnership
  • JCR was going to be key
  • The fit-again Wallace was going to be a huge asset
That all ended well.

Surprised that Peterborough have odds of 3/1 today among some bookies – I reckon we're in for a tricky game.

After an evenish 30 mins we finished the first half strongly. Hanson probably should have made one of his chances count. Wright, Basham and Fleck have all been excellent. It won't make the match highlights, but best moment of the half was Jake Wright's superb piece of defending on a Peterborough break. Made it look calm and simple – it stopped a clear chance on goal emerging, and was executed perfectly.

get fuckin in sharp!!! and riley about to come on

That was a hell of a frustrating second half – we had to deal with a crazy amount of gamesmanship from Peterborough, with a willing referee. But we dominated the half and got our rewards.

Quick ratings...

Moore 7/10 – rarely troubled, fine with everything he had to do

Freeman 7/10 – not at his best, but a constant outlet. Missed what looked to be a sitter first half. Defended well.

Lafferty 7/10 – similar to Freeman today.

JOC 7.5/10 – solid enough, did well at left back when we went 4-3-3

Basham 8.5/10 – thought he was excellent throughout, beaten only by...

Wright 9/10 – superb.

Fleck 8/10 – best midfielder on the day

Duffy 6/10 – too slow in using the ball today, rightly subbed

Carruthers 6.5/10 – mixed bag. At times looks extremely classy, at other times was very sloppy on the ball. Might be better suited to Duffy's role than Coutts's.

Hanson 7/10 – thought he did well, worked hard, probably should have scored first half but denied by decent save from his header in the second. Expertly assisted the Sharp goal.

Sharp 7/10 – would have been a 6 without the goal, and I did wonder whether he was going to be the one subbed for Lavery. Looked the most frustrated of the team 2nd half – great anticipation for the goal.

O'Shea did well when he came on, so too Lavery. Riley not enough time on pitch to judge really.

Officials 0/10.

Great turnout by our fans.
