I'm writing a little article about the Zimbabwean sensation. What do you remember about his time at Bramall Lane?

A great piece of business to get him in the deal that took Woodhouse to Birmingham, particularly given others like Huddersfield had been desperately trying to sign him permanently.

He had some key goals, the most memorable being the winner over Leeds in the League Cup in 2002. I remember seeing him score 5 goals in the same week as we beat Rotherham 5-0 and Cardiff 5-3 in 2003.

His legacy in football will be as the root cause of the Tom Hark goal music craze, as this song initially just used to play after he'd himself score, but eventually due to the cup runs in 2002-03 it became our goal music for every goal any player scored, and was then replicated by clubs elsewhere.

Gary Sinclair pays him royalties. Maybe.

My all time favourite Blade (closest competition being Deano) purely based on how much I loved watching him play.

Some will say he would run down blind alleys or his final ball wasn't consistent enough, but he was a real entertainer. Whenever my dad and I reminisce about him, I always recall three pieces of outrageous skill. I couldn't tell you the opposition or the score from those games, but my top three bits of Nuddy magic:

3. At full stretch jumping forwards, he managed to catch the ball on his toe end to bring it under control.

2. A cross field pass to him on the left wing (South Stand, attacking the Lane end) was overhit and seemingly going straight over his head for a throwin. Or so thought everyone on the pitch except Ndlovu, who nonchalantly leaned forward to perform an overhead backheel volley, crossing the ball perfectly to the penalty spot.

1. With the ball dropping out of the sky over his shoulder, facing the touchline (and right on it), with an opponent either side of him, in one touch he controlled the ball with some sort of Cruyff turn/drag back manoeuvre, beating both men, and set off down the wing.

Also worth mentioning: one season with us he'd returned to Zimbabwe during the season to attend his sister's funeral. He landed in London on a Saturday when we were facing Rotherham at the Lane. The story, as I remember it, was that Neil Warnock had told him not to rush back for the game, but when Ndlovu insisted Warnock promised him he would play if he made it in time. He was giving the staff updates on his way up the M1 but when the players came out to warm up he wasn't among them. When he emerged from the dressing room during the warm up all the players and staff (and fans!) stopped to applaud him. He scored the only goal of the game, I think from the penalty spot.

Oh! And penalties! One of our best penalty takers since the likes of Whitehouse and Hodges. Ndlovu would always send the goalkeeper the wrong way and roll it in the other side.

Ran with the ball, not always in complete control, but gave absolutely everything. Bit of a maverick. Scored some important goals for us did Nuddy.

Was it Nuddy who had the genius idea of wearing a short sleeve shirt over a long sleeve shirt, so then when he scored and took his shirt off he wasn't booked?

Doesn't he also have about 45 kids?

Shaun Derry kicked him once and got sent off.

This his Bert's contribution to his life story.
