Work in Barnsley so I’m dealing with Leeds and Barnsley fans and Man Utd fans.. of course..

Leeds are the new pigs in terms of bitterness, the Barnsley fans are more interested in what they’re trying to achieve, and the two Man Utd fans are armchair fans so it really doesn’t matter what they say..

Best comment so far, “you’ll sack wilder before Xmas and go down while the chairman pockets the money” Leeds fan...

My reply, that’s when you’ll sack beisla and try to sign wilder to save your season.. walked out the office, they can’t take it..

Had a mate of 20+ years who is a die-hard, home and away (and in fairness a "moderate/reasonable") pig say we deserved it, but that she wouldn't say well done and she's pleased for me cos she wouldn't mean it. That's fair enough, I'd be gutted in their shoes and don't think I'd be able to bring myself to offer sincere congratulations.

Office piggy arrived at half 1 yesterday afternoon, as I was walking out on my lunch break. I looked at him, smiled, and all he could muster was "fuck off."

As I mention United on my radio show every single day I've had calls, emails and personal congratulations from many listeners (many from the Armed Forces across the world). It's been quite humbling. I actually feel like I've personally achieved something but...I haven't...at all.

This question is particularly aimed at Blades living outside Sheffield.

How are other fans reacting to you being a Blade? Been out and about wearing my Blades shirt and am getting more stares than usual plus one hearty "UTB" from a passing cyclist.

I was at a wedding in Scotland this weekend, only a small group of people that i knew as I knew the Bride and Groom from when i was in Japan. Most of the guests were Rangers fans

It didn't take long into the evening for people i'd never met to be coming up to me and congratulate Sheffield United on promotion and they were all asking about John Fleck. I think word was going around that there was a pissed up Blades fan celebrating more than just his mates wedding. Never let it be said that Scots are tight, i was getting drinks bought for me all night and i was reciprocating.

Other mates there were supporters of Palace, Aberdeen and Yokohama Marinos

I was also getting messages from fans of other clubs all weekend despite not posting too much on social media, i got messages from mates supporting Bradford, Liverpool, Tranmere, Man U, Boro, Norwich, Brentford, West Ham, Derby and of course Leeds and Wednesday

Yes - very good reaction. I live in North Somerset with loads of Brizzle fans as neighbours. All pleased for us. Also receiving emails from people I know who live here that I didn't realise had any interest in football. One supports Sunderland, another Derby, another Leeds and finally another Man Utd.

The main reaction is that it is great to see a "real", no frills club getting promoted.

Those I know who follow football are mainly pleased, I know two Liverpool fans who are so far up their footballing arseholes that they haven't even noticed, a Villa fan who is obviously jealous, a Southampton fan who likes to take the piss but hardly knows what colour Southampton play in, several Bristol City fans who are impressed and a little bit jealous, a Swansea fan who thinks it's amazing and a Tottenham fan who is genuinely pleased for us. They have all taken more and more notice of TMB in the last two years and have all heard of Chris Wilder who they think is a football magician (don't we all)

Working up in Cumbria (Sellafield) this week and have had several people make comments to me when they spotted my Blades jacket

All been positive. Genuinely happy for us.

A couple of lads in particular (a Man U fan and a Newcastle season ticket holder) said they’d been keeping an eye on us and loved how we went about our football this season and last.

Newcastle lad said, “I was dead pleased you got promoted until it dawned on me that now we have to play you. Here’s four points from us. You’re welcome”

Have to say getting great congrats from all my buddies,they be liverpool, cork city ,arsenal,brummie, man u, spurs, newcastle and leeds fans, yes even them. All said well deserved,love watching us and Wilder is a top bloke. I think ive suffered enough over the years that there genuinaly happy for me as much as anything. It’s been an enjoyable few days so far, and I’ve mainly had positive comments from other football fans that I know at work, and they generally are pleased that I’m happy, and that I’m bouncing round, having a laugh and got a huge smile on my face.

Been my day off today so I’ve been to Hillsborough Leisure Centre and on the drive back I made sure I had the John Egan blasting out of my car at full blast as I drove past the Piggery. Had a White Van Man shout at me calling me a ducking wanker because of it, and as I wore my Blades shirt for the school run I’ve made a point of being all smiles in it, because of the Dads is a subhuman retarded fuckwit and likes to think that he is old school OCS and has previously in the past made his feeling about the Blades well known in my earshot.

The pig fans I’m friends with have been fine, I’ve laid off them a bit so far and let them come to me with the platitudes through gritted teeth, but I know deep down they are all jealous as fuck

In Australia, when talking about “football”, it is usually necessary to first clarify which type:
A) Rugby League
B) Rugby Union
C) Aussie Rules (“AFL”)
D) Association football (or as I call it, proper football)

Once this formality is out of the way, recognising my accent, people ask me which English team I follow.
I explain Sheffield United.
This is typically followed by a blank stare and “yeah but who’s your EPL team?” (+/- “is that near London”)
There is no concept of promotion or relegation in australia - for example the A-league exists on its own, and a series of seperate amateur and semi-pro state leagues exist at a local level.
Many Australians therefore assume that I am telling them that I follow my local pub team.

I’m afraid, opportunities for gloating are limited!

When I met my Australian wife, it turned out she knew all about football, had been to many Socceroos matches, followed Western Sydney Wanderers, knew that David Carney had played for Sheffield United, and told me that United were a “big club” that belonged back in the premier league. I promptly put a ring on it.

Now when I hear “Who’s your EPL team?” I can finally respond... Sheffield United!

It's obvious that we made a lot a friends amongst the fan base after the cup game.

I live in Brinsworth, which is also in Rotherham, Had no issues from any rovrum supporters, all I heard from them is congrats and hope we do well next season in prem.

I work in leeds.... yeah bitter and deluded, starting to think they are piglets in disguise really

The way this has panned out we would be sick as well it was there for them and we have took it off them at the death (and deservedly so )the good teams always come strong towards the end of a season, we have been that team.

Received congratulations from Man C, Man U, Liverpool, MK Dons and Burnley fans.

One Liverpool fan gave me "congratulations, are you looking forward to conceding 6 at Anfield laa ?".. but other than that, everyone has said it will be good that we're back up there.

I think they would all genuinely prefer a team like us (Forest, Pigs, Leeds, Ipswich etc.) To get there than your Bournemouth's and Huddersfield's etc.
