Genuine question, watching McBurnie today was a class in striker play. He’s scoring and obviously a fan favourite, just as he was before he joined us, when he became largely ineffective. We’ve bought a few strikers now and I’m struggling to think of anyone who has done well? Discounting Billy obviously.

Mcburnie was great for us too. Don’t understand why anyone believes otherwise
All the idiots on here - and there are many - saying he's useless and Cannon will score more this season. Priceless.

It's absolutely heartbreaking that he's playing for a club like Hull, instead of being in the red and white stripes.

He was part of a team that won promotions, and stayed up, earning us millions.

So yeah he was a success at united..

And wilder tried to get bettis to sign him while selles was in charge it seems..

Depends what the question actually is. Taking that part into context it’s about strikers bought since Billy Sharp (brought back) so you have Leon Clarke, McGoldrick, BBD (1st time when used as a striker),

If you are saying what we have now striker wise, there is potential but confidence levels are so low, we don’t have a guaranteed 1 in 3 type of striker like we had with Billy, Leon and Didzy. We are also lacking that magic like Ndiaye could pull out of nothing due to Gus not being able to perform. There are fine margins in every game at the moment but currently the squad doesn’t have the confidence to close those and get something from it

Leon.

I’m just curious as to why our standard no 9’s don’t seem to click. Ings looks lively but is getting no service so having to make things happen for himself. Canon is simply abject, yhat oayhetic neshed header in thexsecond half sums him ip. Campbell hasn’t got going this season. I do think our total reluctance to get the ball in from wide positions must be a major factor.

I do think it’s the lack of service that is the major problem. We need to stretch their defence and CBs that’s what NDiaye was so good at

Not going to happen unless we can find that player, but from winning the 2nd ball from Huddersfield’s own GK, N’Diaye was straight on the front foot running with purpose. Huddersfield didn’t know who to pick up and was a perfect pass into Billy and he does the rest. 2 up top can work but we need the service behind for it to be successful. I can see Ogbene and Chong (when fit) being able to run at defenders or at least get a dangerous ball in. Gus can also pick out a pass. Ings is experienced but needs another option up top too. For some reason it isn’t clicking

Agree with all of that. Missing piece atm is that, for me neither O’Hare nor Peck can play that role

Another ex blades scores today, alongside Sharp, McBurnie, Lundstrum, Egan, Osula, Moore, Calvert Lewin and Ndieye, who have all scored this season, we can add Jebbison.
