Yeah good news, although I'm hoping that if Blackwell is on his way out Reid is given an advisory role.

Other good news at the academy is that Speed has been down there a lot recently, and seems to have a great relationship with the young lads. Apparently he took a few to one side to explain where he thinks they need to work on their game and they were all made up that he took the time and effort.
Who know maybe this is the start of a professional link up between the first team and the academy. This certainly hadn't been the case previously.

I certainly hope so. I really want the academy to work except I'd like to keep some of them if they prove to be any good

Well lets just say you won't find Blackie or Ellis doing it. Blackie has engineered the whole place to be shit scared of him (the whole picking up rubbish thing for starters) but he likes everyone to jump when he is in the building. If he changed the habbit of a lifetime and spoke to encourage them they'd probably drop a log.

As you say it what we should of been doing, but as KB treats the whole place with contempt maybe we have the reason that he doesn't seem to give them much of the time of day, nevermind a chance to warm the bench.
