john’s dad, Brazil leg end was linked with us few years ago could be great what do you all think 🤔

Possibly, but then I suppose he comforts himself by looking at his bank statements.

Surely a man of his calibre could have found a more dignified way of making money?

As an aside, I believe Peter 'Darth Maul' Serafinowicz dubbed Pele in that advert.

Excellent trivia Sir, he played in a era when talent like his wasn’t rewarded like it is today, lesser players have earned far more money, I only really saw him in the 1970 World Cup, wow is all I can say .

Saw him in that friendly at the sty some years back, looked a bit lazy to me

I nicked off school to watch the Santos friendly too. Pele was strapped up just to get him on the pitch and could hardly get a stride in.

That would be the second one in 1972 and it was a bit of a let down .

They first met 10 years earlier in a night match and it was terrific . To be fair , Wednesday gave a very good account of themselves in a thoroughly entertaining match but in the end the sheer class of Pele and co. prevailed and they ran out 4-2 winners .

I seem to remember there were over 50,000 there , a good number of which were Blades and the atmosphere was up there with some of the best I've ever experienced at a football match .

I doo theeez, I do daht, I dooo theez.... GOL.

We've got Billy Sharp.

Wasn't there a record number of truancies in Sheffield that day? 🤣

Think ther was, we were amazed they let us have the afternoon off for it

I remember he had the strapping on , "lazy" comment was tongue in cheek of course :)

was the 72 one yes and it was a bit flat, wish I'd seen the earlier one and even better if it had been against us at BDTBL :)
