Outgoing? Peck

Yet there are still those who think he's reached his potential/is over rated/not as good as Arblaster.

I said pre-Christmas, Peck would be playing in the PL next season...
Maybe if he hadn't gone missing in.the play off final. Looked to.me that the occasion was too big for him. For me Arblaster has a higher ceiling but who knows if he comes back as good as he was. Certainly I think he's better going forward than Peck. I think a premier league club would want more goal threat than Peck currently has. I hope both have really good careers.

Interesting points you raise. The biggest differentiator for me (and I'm guessing most/all PL sides) is that Peck looks a much better athlete.

We've seen from our last two PL season, CMs now have to be 6ft+ and built like decathletes...

I still think with better players and better coaching, Peck will find that goal scoring threat.

Sadly it's a huge IF as Blaster and Davies are always injured.
Aye
Whilst semantically accurate (since 10 November), describing OA as “always injured’ seems a tad harsh.
Equally it could be said he’s ’only’ had 1 injury , (for us) albeit of 7 months (& counting) duration. 🤔

Add to that both his (substantial) injury absences have been ‘incident’ specific so to equate him with the ‘chronically’ fragile Davies is disingenuous
NB - not a dig @ TD who, if able to achieve / maintain a level of (fairly) consistent availability could /,would be a considerable attribute, which, as has been said, significantly mitigates any ‘loss’ of Peck

The owners can show their intent by saying Cooper won't be leaving or Hamer, especially if Vini goes and we bring in Alzate

No.....losing the tallest member of our midfield (Souza) will make our midfield as its stands (giggle) rather dwarfish....Hamer,OHare,Shackelton,Peck.
Yeah pretty daft to build such a small midfield and then continue under a new manager making it even smaller. It’s basic stuff like this that makes me question whether Utd have got any idea what they are doing in the transfer market

Totally agree

If an established Prem team are genuinely interested in Peck, then 15 million would not be outrageous, given the assumption must be they see a higher ceiling and he is a first team regular (unlike Osula) for a side that are substantial promotion candidates. But he is not a creative player or one with am.exceptional technique likes Alex Scott or Wharton...so I could not see it being much more. I am not sure I would value him the same way yet, but i think it's viable.

I think £15M is about right.
It is all about where we are in the food chain. We'll be looking at players for around £3M trying to develop them into £15M players.
Clubs likely to buy Peck will be looking to play £10-£15M hoping to develop them into £45M players.
We can't ask those rates, the likes of Bournemouth, Brighton, C Palace etc can.
The other angle is that we are never going to break into that next step if we keep selling too many of our '£15M' players.

Would be a shame to lose him this summer. I have a feeling he would shine under Selles. He's exactly that type of high maintenance, high energy intensity player Selles seems to want in his system.

I'd agree £15m plus a loan back for next season that way he gets the game time he probably wouldn't in the prem. I personally don't think he is ready 100% potential to be just not yet. Thst said he did very well stepping into Arblasters shoes and he was one of the very few fit enough for 90 plus minutes if he adds a few goals even better.
