Just because parachute payments stopped doesn’t mean we won’t have money
What do you mean? We've been repeatedly told we're weeks from going bust and that "I'd be worried if I were them"?

Are you telling me the weirdos who don't pay their bills in South Barnsley are wrong?!?

someone else will be sold. Or we get a sell on fee from Osula.

Less about fees and more about getting big wages off the books.

All the releases and loans free up good chunk of wages so it’s just a case of jiggling the money around doesn’t mean we can’t spend money either

I'm sure United, Peck, and his agent have a figure agreed for which we will accept, and if that figure doesn't arrive then he'll stay here (or we'll reduce it as we get desperate). As such, Peck's probably quite happy knowing that he'll either move to the PL for £15m or so, or have another season at a place he enjoys and is loved.

Be amazed if he is still at the club come the start of pre season, wouldn’t actually be a surprise if a move is already lined up and just about done.

He is the one asset that will fetch some decent money.

Not convinced he is as replaceable as people are thinking.
He rarely gives the ball away
Wins his battles in midfield
Anticipates where an opponent is going so he gets a block or a tackle in
He can move the ball quickly (when there are options)
He remains available for selection
Can last 90+ minutes
Can pick a pass
Has the energy to get the team moving
Has youth on his side and I very high ceiling
Already called up for England youth setups
Has a fantastic attitude
Is a reyt pig WUM

I suspect those people who are talking easy replacement don’t really take into account the inconsistency of youth or the poor quality he has had around him. Added to the constant changes in midfield partners for form, suspension, injuries.

We’ve all witnessed the dreadful first half performances recently when Peck has been on the bench and the improvement of the team when he comes on as a sub.

Easily replaceable?
What?
Matos?
Rothwell?
It won’t be as simple as that.
I'm old enough to remember some of the suggested "replacements" for future Man U and England captain Harry Maguire

All depends on how we balance the books whether its selling better players for fees or sending fringe players packing to invest more into wages for the likes of Peck, Brooks, Seriki etc.

I'd sooner lose and not replace guys like Matos, Shackleton, Baptiste, Zatterstrom, Marsh, Ukaki etc if it meant keeping better players who will be far more use to us.

No fucker wants them ,well normal club lol !!!

Peck is my favourite current player because he does both sides of the game and actually seems to give a shit when we lose. He has what I think is the mentality needed to be a Sheffield United player. He's the only one on the books I can definitely say that about. We need at least four or five players with a similar mentality as our squad is a personality vacuum.
Give over with this "mentality to be a Sheffield United player" it makes us sound like some weird cult.
He's a good player that's all that matters
We should do all we can too try and keep him.

And he has the right mentality

Nothing weird about that. We’ve had good players with the wrong mentality in the past

Nothing wrong with that at all.
It's the obsession alot of our fans have with having the mentality to be a Sheffield United player like we are some kind of special club, it's the same when some say they need to "get the club" it's just a bit weird and not something other clubs fans say.

Brentford it is Aqqqqqq

Its lined up 100% and x4 times the wage he gets here

This is how we should operate. It’s simple business. One day I hope we can do the same and sign young players from others as an established PL club. It’s the circle of life, baby!

The onus now should be getting the new and better Peck. Always looking to improve.

Peck cost 100k I would’ve thought? Can probably get around 16-20 for him in this climate?

Yep ideally a decent chunk of the Peck fee say 5-10% should be ear marked for academy recruitment. We invested 100 ish k in an academy purchase that hit and hit big so now reinvest a portion of that into further academy recruitment. Knowing that most of the players signed won’t hit like Peck did but hoping you find 2 maybe 3 out of that money who do. Rinse and repeat

On sky transfers it's saying Brentford are looking for defenders, midfield and wingers. They are in talks to sign a 19 Yr old defender , obviously going for young players

Would be disappointed for him if he decided on that move, West Ham aren't a club that are on the up with improving facilities. They have a board that is panicking, although they will have parachute payments, they still will have to be careful with income next season with an already inflated wage structure and paying off huge contracts.
According to the BBC they are deep in it https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cvgz1zl14k3o they recorded a loss of £104m in their latest accounts to 31 May 2025

I think it's perfect time to be ruthless, if they are showing interest slap £30-£45million on him + add ons including at least £10million promotion bonus. I could easily see Brentford coming in around the £15million mark and to be honest I would sell for that especially at a club he can move on at. They are right in saying he has potential but personally potential at Championship for another season may as well be with us as he is under contract here until 2028.

We need to sell to help plug the gaps and allow Wilder to wheel and deal. Peck is one of a few that is worth over £10M, so unfortunately, he needs to be sold. In the current climate, he's probably worth £16M, which would represent a great return on a player that cost us nothing and was a mainstay in the side for 2 seasons.

Be a bit of a shame for him to move to another Championship club, but could act as a useful lure to get a top flight side to bid.

Peck can go. £10-12m plus sell ons and use that to buy. Let’s not forget, Peck would’ve been nowhere near had Arblaster not got injured so it’s free money as far as I’m concerned.

I may well be mistaken but I can't see West Ham spending £20m on a single player this summer. That said, they need to raise ~£100m in player sales and they'll get that (and more) by selling Fernandes and Diouf.
They want 80m for Fernandes apparently

Be disappointed to see him playing championship football in anything other than red and white.

£15m+ to the premier league so we can see how well he kicks on

I also rated Blaster higher than Peck before his injury but their career trajectories have totally flipped now. Only one of them likely to be moving upwards this summer.
