If you had to keep one and let one go who would it be?

Interested to see what everyone’s thinks of this but out of Arblaster and Peck who has been the better player this season from what we have seen from them both and who out of the two has the best potential?

It’s impossible to judge. Arblasters injury came early into the season.

We missed Blaster terribly when he first went out and it’s brilliant that Peck has been able to step up and how his game so much over recent months he really has been immense.

IF blaster recovers form the injury as we all hope and is the same player he was before it I would say he probably has the highest potential ceiling because he progresses the game a little more than peck. He looks forward more and take the ball on the spin and plays more decisive forward passes. He’s also more of a goal threat.

Hopefully we one day get to see them both in the same midfield. Let’s stop with the small club mentality and aim to keep both

Tough call, beginning of season Arblaster was one of first names on team sheet and Peck was a sub

Now Peck is up there with Vini in terms of DM role, and can go foward

Ownership is 9/10ths so now it’s Pecks to lose

But we don’t need to lose either, clubs stable and they’re on contracts so Leeds/villa/Real Madrid can fuck off

Peck is impressing me more and more every game .. he could go right to the top in English football there is something of N'Golo Kante about his performances recently

Absence makes the heart grow fonder I guess but I think Arblaster could become one of our very best.

I genuinely can’t choose between the two. It’s incredible how we have 2 such amazing talents in midfield. I’m loving it

They are quite similar in the way they protect the ball and turn out if trouble. Blaster is more of a goal threat though.

It seems as though the mini break that he had at end of Jan, gave him a chance to reset, process what he had learned during the previous months and have a breather. He has also benefited from having a more fixed position and partner.

Agree…..early in the season Peck was receiving the plaudits but (as usual) think a lot of it was exaggerated.
He’s always shown he has plenty of talent but thought his decision making was poor.
He’d try too many difficult passes and give the ball away in bad areas, also thought he was a bit slow and didn’t mark tightly enough,

Always thought Arblaster had the better/ calmer footballing brain…..knowing when to keep it simple and when to try an ambitious pass.
Also Arblaster is much more likely to score…..it’s exciting to think these 2 could be our future midfield.

However I’ve got to admit in the last 3 or 4 matches Peck has shown loads of maturity and tenacity in his game.
And I’ve been really impressed…..think he has a big future. Also love his effort levels, competitiveness and will to win
…he’s reminds me of George Baldock….in that he’s a Southern lad but plays like he’s a Sheff Utd fan.
To be honest even if a player makes mistakes or has poor games I’ll always support them when they clearly care so much about SUFC.

i think the Sheffield United thing to do would be to sell both of them. Then reinvest the money in a few players who will amount to nothing. Sell them players on or let them go on a free and we slip further down the table.
Should anyone ask, we just say ‘ when bigger clubs come calling, what can we do ?’.
And then in a few years time when they make the England squad we can say ‘Another product of the youth academy’. Then we can refer to that for years to come until the next ones come off the production line. UTB

We haven’t done that for years….that was a McCabe thing…and to be honest it’s a fact of life that your best players are head hunted when you’re in league 1 or the Champiomship with limited finances. Under the Prince we never sold anyone unless it was on our terms to benefit the team.

Think fans need to realise how the football industry works and every club in world football apart from Real Madrid and Barcelona are “selling clubs”.
Even Liverpool are a selling club….one season their best player was Philip Coutinho….Barcelona came in and offered £105 rising to £140 million for him.
It was fantastic business for Liverpool because he wasn’t that good at Barcelona. Buying and selling is really important to be a successful football club.
This season Liverpool best player is Mo Salah but if a Saudi club come in for Salah they will sell their best player.

Don’t mind us selling both Peck and Arblaster……as long as it’s on our terms, if we’re promoted we don’t need to sell anyone.
So we should only sell if it brings in loads of money which we can re-invest in better players.
So we would be wanting £70 to £80 million for the pair…..but even then I’d only sell if we thought we had better players lined up.

Altho agree it would be great to see Peck and Arblaster be in our midfield for many years.

One of the reasons I'm quite relaxed about promotion is the idea of Blaster and Peck together in the Championship next season. I think we will keep both.

Another reason I'm quite relaxed about promotion is because we will probably win about 5 games all season if we go up

Excellent summary!

Peck is very good.
I've gotba feeling Blaster is going to be something special.
Luckily, we have them both.

Both will go to the top. Hopefully with us, if the new owners are the real deal!!

I don't think Peck has the physical attributes to be successful in the EPL. He will be up against quicker, stronger, athletes on a weekly basis. These might come, but certainly not next season.

The jury was out about whether Arblaster could make the step up before he got injured. We need to see how he comes back.

As for the OP, I think we'd be better off keeping them both.
