Paying Woolford Off As Well?

I think there will be clubs in the league below interested in him on a free. The sticking block would be his wages I'd guess.

He is a contender for the all time crap United eleven, and to think paying him up will impact on our signing players for the forthcoming season,The person responsible for sanctioning the Hammond and Woolford deals,I do hope they are no longer at our club, yes I know Adkins is no longer, but someone above NA,gave the go ahead

Think we are the only club that goes "into the transfer market" releasing players. Most clubs actually try and recruit.

Where do clubs "in the transfer market" get players from if other clubs also "in the transfer market" don't release anyone?

The old technical board who sanctioned most of the crap have been told to do one. That's what McCabe told me personally at the fans forum.

Depends on his wages, I suppose.

If we've been paying way over the odds for shite, which seems to be the trend, said shite is going to be a bit of a fucker to shift. Partly due to them being out of the price range of suitable clubs, and partly due to them being, well...shite.

The owners should be made to sit in on the final severance deal and watch Woolford's 'highlight reel' on repeat. It'd be payback for all the times we've had to endure his woeful attempts at being a professional footballer, and a reminder to watch what their fucking money goes on.

So McCabe got rid of the crap that used to sign crap and then replaced them with the new technical board crap who were meant to stop us signing crap but they still signed crap. So he got rid of them as well?

Basically yeah.

You missed out the bit where we sacked a manager (Clough) for being crap and undermining the technical board who were even crapper.

It's called "backing the new manager"

Imagine the conversation
NA: We can bring in Woolford and Hammond. They won't cost anything but their wages are really high but trust me on this. I know both players really well. They are both too good for league 1 and will be big assets.

Our board have been the most ambitious league 1 club every year so they aren't going to tell NA we don't trust your judgement. NA has a top class record and knows both players better than anyone.

It's similiar to if Wilder wants to go back to cherry pick Northampton best players.
Doubt the Baird would be thinking he doesn't know his own Northsmpton players.

At the end of the day a board has to back his manager , give him the tools he needs especially when they are new.

Note. You should never post pissed.

Depends, with us it's perhaps the case that the empty space is more useful than the player leaving it ;)

Mcabe has probably been bent over by more agents that Joanie has by 70's actors.

I was going to photoshop Kevs mug onto Joanie's body, but the guts are feeling a bit delicate this morning.

I think Woolford comes in for unfair stick sometimes. He was past his best, but he did try, he did run, he did shoot, unlike others we had in that team. You never saw him slowly trotting back, when the opposition broke, he actually wanted to go and help.

As I have said before, on the final home game of the season, he had put more of a shift in than the majority of the players on the field and did not deserve to be booed off.

The worst footballer I've seen since we've been down in this league and that really does take some doing cos I've seen some belters.

Woolford came to us having played 6 seasons in a row in the Championship. He'd been signed a couple of times in the January window and was usually good for 3 or 4 goals a season, and 30 + games. He was 29 when we signed him.

He played 28 times in the League, scoring once (in a defeat). Did he actually have any assists? I can't remember any. It's also difficult to remember any good games from him. His most memorable contribution was his appalling performance against Coventry.

This is a very poor return for someone who isn't that old in footballing terms.

He let himself down last season. We had a right to expect better than what we got.
