PH is quite within his rights to say that the embargo and the takeover are nothing to do with him. His job title was made quite clear from day one. He has no remit to get involved in the business side of running the club. While would also be aware from the start that the current owner wished to sell up and move on, again that does not unduly affect his day job.
The confusion caused by the backloading of Reda Khadra, getting mixed up with what now appears to be a delayed takeover will impact the squad, but all he can do is select the team and tactics for the next game. The club statement refers to the attitude of the EFL, to circumstances that do affect the club as a whole, but there is nothing PH can do to influence that, other than express his support for the board under those unusual circumstances.
IMHO opinion, the takeover and the Khadra issue are too close to be just a coincidence. The Khadra deal was complex, and the takeover is turning out to be just as awkward. Is there a connection. I think there is. Two people will know, the Prince and the potential buyer. Hopefully this is all resolved in the next few weeks.
It does probably mean that no new player(s) are likely to arrive this window, but PH and the supporters can’t do anything about that. The club still has a value and I hope the owner and buyer can agree on that despite the embargo and any other issues arising from due diligence.
Up The Blades and roll on the FACup game next week.
The last thing he needs right now is a vote of confidence from the board but he got one anyway!
