Passion

It was a great site seeing morgs and unsworth hugging at the final whistle, its what football is about, passion enjoyment. It really meant a lot for him and the players were excellent today. really over the moon today, got a buzz I have not had in ages, a committed team that attacked. I can't ask more then that from the players today. Just excelllent!

interesting stuff, i wondered when the P word would come up.

so was that the main difference between wilsons utd and morgans? the players were the same so somethings changed. i cant help but think why couldnt the same bunch do that more for wilson?

its also interesting the amount of folks on this forum who were angry that wilson played kitson and porter upfront before today, but it obviously can work. im not convinced its the way to go in the long run tho.

Think that bunch of limp dicks should take a long hard look at themselves. Their poor attitude cost a man his job. Players should be accountable for lack of performance.

If a few words from a novice have made the difference it says a lot about the people playing.

The main difference was that we play at a very hgih temp both in attack and defence. Swindon didn't expect it and it put them on the back foot. We should have been at least 3-0 up at half time. They came into it at the beginning of the 2nd half and we looked quite nervous but slowly regained control

Great to see 5 kids on the pitch at the end of the game

Flynn was superb

flynn did will but i wish he'd stay on his feet more.. thought tony mac was MoM myself

Hopefully, now that Kevin Mc is free from worries about suspensions, perhaps he will be more committed.

Yes there was passion, but Morgs and Rhino still spent most of the game with their arms crossed! It was intensity with dignity. There really has been some nonsense talked about managers on the touchline. The passion is injected throughout the working week, before kick-off and at half-time, not by embarrassing Warnock-style pitch side buffoonery that does nothing but alienate officials, the opposition and, ultimately, our own fans.

Well Done Morgs and Rhino. A great show of support from the crowd today as well. Can we keep it up?

I think that's maybe a little unfair, I think Wilsons priority was retaining possession at all cost, which led to an inordinate amount of square balls and a pedestrian tempo, particularly amongst the back four and midfield. I can imagine him telling them to 'be patient, keep the ball and it'll come' during his half time team talk. That said I liked Wilson, really enjoyed his first season where we played some great stuff, just seemed to run out of ideas this year, shame but I think he had to go.

I think your point is relevant to the forward line though, I have been Porters biggest critic but I have to say that today he had a great game, never stopped working, closing people down and being a real nuisance. Why he doesn't play every game like that is beyond me, but well done today Chris absolutely superb contribution. (Still couldn't trap a bag of cement tho')

I just hope he response the players got from the crowd inspires them to repeat the effort and tempo on Tuesday.

And in another thread it has been suggested that Flynn was "too honest" and stayed on his feet when he could have gone down.

It's a funny old game

You missed out your own players. I always thought Warrock used to give Cotterall more stick than was necessary and it reflected in his play some games.

did he ? Where ? On talksport ? Because they weren't even at the club at the same time

Any excuse for a pop for some people isn't it Judge?

My mistake, it can't have been Coterall but it was one winger who got it in the neck on a regular basis.

Absolutely spot-on. DW must have had a wry smile on Saturday evening.
