Just to compound the misery of a poor performance last night, I returned to my car that was parked on a road next to the retail outlets over the flyover, to find a ‘Privacy Notice’ stuck to my windscreen😏.

It would appear that Vehicle Control Services had been busy during the game, with dozens of similarly-parked cars also being given one.

Does anyone with experience of being issued one or work in that industry know if they’re legally enforceable? And what’s the likely outcome if I choose to ignore it?

Was that the one next to the French Street public car park? Only the white lined spaces were free after 6 if so - anything blue liable for a ticket. However, I'd check out the Martin Lewis site for advice - these days the tickets are largely unenforceable and so will just depend on how intimidated you personally are by scare tactics! For future reference, Boro is actually one of the better places for free parking - French Street where I was has over 500 council spaces that are free at weekends and after 6pm, plus the street parking going south from there is the same

I parked in the France Street car park all day for £3.30 - which I thought was pretty good value compared with most town centre car parks and then as you say it was free from 6pm onwards. I did nearly make the mistake of parking in the blue zone but fortunately spotted my error

Im pretty sure it wasn’t French Street pudseyblade, it was on the streets that were adjacent to B&M, Costa and KFC and one of those ‘Harvester’ type pubs.

Thanks for the advice - we maybe visiting again next season at this rate🙄!
