Parking and Pubs in Vegas?

I'll be parked in the ale house watching this one - 3-1 to the wizards.

Wouldn't it be better going inside and enjoying beer and atmosphere instead of sitting in the carpark??? ;)

An alternative option is to drink in Dronny. I know Gagey is opening the manor and theres 3 other decent pubs within a stone chuck. Enjoy a few hassle free pints around the village and then its about a £10 taxi to the ground. Or you can hop on the train into chez from Dronfield - its about a 40 minute walk to the ground from the station but there are about 4 decent pubs en route to break that up.

That's my plan, train from Sheff (about 15 mins each way), walk to the ground, catch a few beers on the way there and way back.

Any suggestions?
Will you get a ticket if you park at the Tesco Extra even if you have a club card?
Where's the best street parking area
Which pubs are people heading for (real beer please)
Ta

Q1 Yes. But you might be able to use your club card when you pay the fine and earn enough points to buy you a packet of polo mints
Q2 Anywhere but Tesco Extra car park. Try one of the many side streets off Whit Moor. In fact, try the free car park at the bottom of Duke Street and treat yourself to the best fish and chips at Margaret's on Duke street whilst you're at it. Margaret's is a tiny traditional chip shop. Always big queues coming out the door, for good reason! Oh but hang on, they don't open Sundays! Scrub that then.
Q3 Almost spoilt for choice in that area. Starting just off the A61 roundabout on Whit Moor - The Red Lion, an Old Mill Brewery pub - as far as I know there are no pubs in Sheffield that sell Old Mill Brewery beer, so worth a try if you fancy something different? Then you've got the Derby Tup, further down Whit Moor towards the ground - big choice of real ales. And just around the corner from there you've got The Beer Parlour - again, good choice of real ales. If you like real beer (and real traditional pubs rather than theme pubs with ubiquitous big brewery fake real ale), then these are the best in that area.

The good news is, you can get proper real ale in the ground too. They have hand pulled Brampton Brewery's Golden Bud. Only a light session beer but very nice too. Look out for the little trolley with the handpump in the catering area. (At least they have this in the West Stand where I'm sitting - don't know about the away end).

Brendan left a few months ago. Still a proper pub though.

Yep, he did. He left a while ago now. The lad who's got it now is apparently brewing his own beer in addition to having a nice range of other real ales on hand pull.

Park in Tesco. Ignore bollox about time limits.
As above, Derby Tup. mate of mine has it called Brendan. Just go there,no-one knows the difference between accents from south Sheffield to Chedsterfield. Good real ales and dead convenient for the ground.
Agreed re the Derby Tup. Just remember to call the barmaid Miduck and not Love and you'll be fine.;)

The Woody in Old Tupton for me provided son & heirs football doesn't kick off late again in Belper beforehand.
Token Blade in I would think.
