How? Muppet yes at times but was for me 4th best keeper we have had in recent years behind Kelly, Reece and Tracey.

1. Kelly
2. Reece
3. Tracey
4. Paddy
You didn’t rate Henderson? Mel Rees was difficult to judge for me because it was such a short period.

What people forget is Warmock made Paddy's career. He signed him up pro for Bury, not to mention for The Blades.

Talk about loyalty, he kept his loyalty to the man he owed it to. There's two sides to every story; Paddy tells a very different story. He was a great player, thanks Paddy.

Seeing the banner across the wall of the kop with the Blades Legends pictures and the word 'Disbeliever' daubed across kenny's image is how I think of him.
He well and truly shafted us, without, as I remember it, the slightest show of regret or an explanation, but all these many many years too late, comes crawling back to tell his side of the story for cash (book sales). He can shove his book
DISBELIEVER.

Fat cunt fucked us over. Fuck him.
I thought that he'd done us over until I heard his side of the story. We know from the Michael Tonge sale around the same time that McCabe sold the players and the manager had no choice in it, and the player was made to feel that they weren't wanted or that they should go. It seems McCabe was happy to see him go and we know that a minimum fee release clause was inserted by the club and not Paddy or agent. As Paddy says they could have objected to it, but probably thought they could reject a move anyway which they could, but see above etc.

He's not my favourite keeper ever to play for us, but right up there. I remember Alan Kelly having contract disputes with the club and wanted to leave at one point. Thatcould have ended up different, which I'm please it didn't because that would have possibly ended badly and Kelly iis my favourite ever keeper and probably most Blades' favourite keeper.

So concerned about ‘cash/book sales’ that he tells the story of what actually went on in that podcast, in the OP, that costs £0 to listen to. 🤔

Michael Tonge said exactly the same as Paddy with regards to their sales. I don't doubt what they say about McCabe

Not true if anything we shafted paddy we sold him on when he didn’t want to leave.

He’s a blades legend and it shows how much of a wankstain McCabe was

True he didn't play for us for long, but if you judge him on what he did while he was in our goal, he was a class act and in great form.
I remember him making a brilliant tip over save against someone like Everton. I was surprised that he played for is as little as 8 times though he left his mark and I was at the semi final when he went around the pitch. Mel Rees - SuperBladesMan.

Not true. McCabe fucked him and us over. And that is fact

I'm with knowsnowt here. I loved Paddy when he was here, but I don't see how anyone can defend what he did. Whatever the circumstances, he got a lengthy ban and we stuck with him and paid his wages, and once his ban was up he fucked off at the earliest opportunity. I think it fair to say he owed us one and he did the dirty on us.

Not interested in reading his book. Don't care if he attends our games. Not bothered about his life story. Don't want to listen to a podcast featuring him.

so information is out there that might make you question your opinion but you’d rather not know about it?

But there’s plenty of reasons out there now to suggest that he didn’t ‘do the dirty on us’.

I thought the exact same as you, until recently. Hearing his side of the story, plus similar sales at the time and now knowing more about how the club was operating at the time make me believe Paddy’s interpretation of events.

You have literally no idea.

The stories that have come out from Tonge and Kenny prove to me what a prick Kevin McCabe was.

If you want to blame anyone for our long stint in League one, it’s absolutely all down to McCabe. He made abysmal decision after abysmal decision. Pushing Kenny out in favour of Simonsen was just one in a long long line of shit decisions.

Not heard James Beattie’s side of the story from that year but I wouldn’t be surprised if he wanted to stay with us as well and it was the Chairman that pushed him out.
