Oxford worst team at the Lane since?

Oxford came to make sure they didn't get slaughtered, I reckon they were happy to go back home with a 3-0 loss.

Certainly wouldn't disrespect Oxford considering their circumstances and despite long periods being passed to death, they made Coops make more saves than many weeks.

That's said, it was a far more routine win than I expected. Totally understand making the changes when we did with the bigger picture but we could, and maybe should, have been 5 up by then.

I honestly really dislike threads like this. Putting down a smaller club with limited resources to make ourselves feel like Billy Big Bollocks! It’s disrespectful to Oxford and like someone as already said, we as a club need to show some humility and be humble. We were on the end of some of this nonsense last year in the prem so you’d think we would have learned.

Oxford, imo, we’re better than Luton and Wednesday for a start. They forced Cooper into making some saves and had a decent go, but don’t have the quality to be making a huge difference.

Luton were awful, and Wednesday only had speculative shots from distance.

I genuinely think outside of the top 6-8 teams, everyone else is relatively even. It’s just those top teams have enough to see off the rest of the majority (as we’re proving, bar QPR / Portsmouth).

Not wishing to disrespect Oxford, they've done well to get to the Championship and they started the season ok. I thought they were awful today though
Yeah, I don't want to be disrespectful because they're having a go at the Championship. If anything I felt a bit sorry for them because some of last seasons games are still in my head. Not the cricket score ones as much as the ones where we turned up at a side where it was just all too easy for them.

It's not arrogant to say they didn't have players of the same calibre as Souza, Souttar, Hamer. Sort of similar in my head as to when we'd go up against teams like Brentford and you'd think "There's a team we'd like to compete with" and even they have Ivan Toney up front that you can't touch for quality.

Respect to them they kept at it even when 3 down. How many times had we surrendered by half time last season? Their fans kept singing too.

Don't agree at all, thought they showed more intent than The pigs, and made some nice moves.

Rochdale in 1981, in Div 4. Their two centre backs looked like 2 retired pub landlords.

It finished 2-2.

Wednesday restricted us to one serious chance all game though. They were negative and didn't look great, but Oxford were just wide open from the moment we scored. I'm not anti-Oxford, I tend to support the underdog and I hope they stay up. I suspect they will be more effective at home and their last games have been particularly poor. But.if they play like they did yesterday they will go down.

Credit to Oxford fans who were superb in backing their team, but apart from the first ten minutes they were the worst team I've seen at the Lane in years (not including us last season!). The only possible one in recent years was Peterborough when we beat them 6-2?
Often happens when a club appoints an interim manager permanently following a few good initial results that gets them the job. False economy in the long term.

I wouldn’t get smug, every premiership opponent said that about us last season.
