so Beighton...we have a new chief exec...some may say thats akin to shuffling deck chairs on the titanic...or more chiefs than Indians...how many layers of management do we need? how much money is Birch putting into the club? if there is new investment on the horizon why hasn't McCabe secured it? what will Birch be able to do that McCabe can't?

Given that his involvement with previous clubs has been when they're in financial trouble we could be in for interesting times.
We do seem to have quite a few paid high-ups for a club in financial gloop though.

I've felt for a while now that the only logical explanation of events since the play off defeat is that McCabe is looking to liquidate any assets he can in the club in order to pull his money out. The club publicity machine did its best to blur this over the summer in order to hold onto the crowd but the reality is shining through now. Next year's season ticket renewals will be down 50% the way we are going so I've got to assume McCabe won't be in charge at the start of next season.

Yeah, Abramovich is still there

He overlooked the deal, no-one is saying he went there because of him. I'm sure Birch will oversee whatever McCabe has planned and then move on.

I think he was appointed Chief Exec at all 4 previous clubs.

I can tell you why Abramovic bought Chelsea as the guy I worked with in The City helped broker the deal....and its quite simple....because he got stuck in a chaueffer driven car on Tottenham High Street!!!

Abramovic was originally interested in Spurs but turned his attention to Chelsea when he realised how difficult it is to get to Tottenham's ground from the nicer part of London!!!
