Out-thought and Out-fought

I was expecting to lose this game pretty easily and maybe get tonked.

I did not expect the Wolves players to out-work our players. Everytime we had the ball they closed us down. They gave us now space, always had our players marked and never looked like they were breaking sweat doing it.

We are so ponderous. So slow, both in thought and action. It's just so obvious. So telegraphed. No one makes any runs. No one breaks their neck to get challenges is. We're second to everything. So slow to react.

Once again a player outside the box gets to take target practice. Once again the player who (eventually) bothers to make an effort to close him down is way too slow. We're always on the back foot. The times they actually went into second gear they just waltzed round us. So simple.

Wolves have got some incredible players at this level. Different class. But we were clueless both on and off the pitch tonight. How long are we going to persist with this formation? Keep doing the same things over and over and over again even though they aren't working. Giving the captaincy to a player who has zero qualifications to be one. Playing the same players. Dropping our player of the season for no apparent reason?

Sigh. Something needs to change. We look tired and lacking energy and ideas.
And haven't you been absolutely dying to make this post for 18 months now ,since you made a prick of yourself when Wilder was appointed. You obviously didn't go to Norwich or Villa or Derby or numerous other games ,but feel fit to post shit such as no one gets challenges in ,no one makes runs , were always on the backfoot ,formations no good. Crawl back under your rock ,your on a par with that pig whos suddenly started piping up ,time to dig a few old threads up to show your football knowledge I reckon.

Over the last 14 games we have played quite well but seem to have lost a little confidence in front of goal, so opportunities to shoot or cross are being passed onto the next guy or rushed. When we were playing with confidence at the start of the season players were willing to take things on or take a shot. Bedding in four new players will take some time but, other than Leeds, the next five games will give us a chance to get our mojo back, so I will not give up on the play-offs yet.

He will be absolutely loving tonight's result,he will be gloating on here all night long, possibly even all day tomorrow

I'd say runs are being made but it gets passed backwards and sideways a bit first so the strikers have to drop back. Then when someone decides to go forward, there's no one available.
Got to agree with that. Players in, or running in to, the box, too often end up on their heels. We could probably work quicker delivery into the box and give 30/40% more chances in front of goal.
