I'm enjoying it whilst it lasts but the real test will come when we hit a difficult patch under Wilder. Some fans will inevitably turn on him when that time comes, that group always will, but hopefully the board will remember the adaptability that he showed after a difficult start this season, and after some of his signings didn't come off.

The big test will come if we get back to the championship, as the owners have repeatedly told us that the budget will rise significantly should we get promoted, this was the excuse rolled out when they've been challenged over the"gamchanging" comment debacle...

I look forward to the day of reckoning which is over the horizon.. tbh, we can't say we haven't been backed (other than when they found out that Adkins was offering stupid deals and paying silly money to has beens last season)

I do rather like this notion that fans should be more than grateful to owners for paying debts that said owners have run up themselves over years of incompetence....it's a wonderful concept...

Cap duly doffed....

But most fans want us to run up even BIGGER DEBTS chasing success.
Surely that's an even bigger incompentence.
Yeh we might risk going into admin but I don't think many of our fans are bothered.

Well this what I actually said:

"but the only person found to be stating that was @Sean Thornton himself as far as I could see!?!?"

Note the question marks and the 'as far as I could see' bit...but hey, fill yer boots!

As I say, most people heard this 'rumour' from you...

Maybe you should have looked harder then. Or looked at all.

Anyway, off you trot, I can't be arsed to read anymore of your deviation from your own posts.

Most fans are not bothered about admin?

I dunno about that, I suppose fans see clubs go into admin/all kinds of bother, then surpass us on the pitch and think 'what's so bad about that'?

Maybe..maybe not...have a nice evening.

The monkey/typewriter theory is bunkum, by the way. They would never manage a single sentence correctly; much like some of our contributors...
You are proving it to be correct from your ever turgid ramblings on here that you understand and know football better than anyone on here. One wonders why you were never a football manager. Er actually no we don't. It is because of your constant disrespect for anyone else's view that deviates 1 mm from your own line.
Carry on to prove the monkey theory correct.

Credit where it's due to the owners. We didn't sell any of our key players.
Some would say that nobody wanted them... Others would say that the one we sold was the best ever player based on a couple of JPT performances...

But i'd agree, credit to McCabe and the Prince, not only have we not sold our key players, we've brought in additional players to challenge them

How long before someone says Ramsdale is a key player, seeing as he is our no.2 and always on the bench?

It can be said, but it wouldn't really be true when the replacement in No 3 has played 100 games at this level

Which key players like? It's not like previous years where we've had a star player to sell a la Murphy, Maguire...I don't think it takes much imagination to predict what would have happened if we had.

It'll be a great window if we go up (new signings gave us a boost etc), a shit one if we don't ( we could-a, should-a)...it's that simple really...

Sharp would normally have qualified but I think we are lucky that his time here is as much about personal ambition than it is professional. Otherwise he would have been cashed in.

Hard to believe our owners would have rejected any bids for any our first team players if any were received every player has their price Kevin has said often enough. I'll give them credit for bringing players in, but it could be argued the Adams and DCL and now Ramsdale deals assisted those transfers allied to the exodus of out of contract players. If promotion is achieved it will be a decent effort by the owners, the Championship is a different ball game have they the wherewithal for that challenge, not convinced.

Yep, if he wasn't a Blade he'd be gone.

I think this time its more about adding to a new squad. In fairness, Maguire and Murphy had both been with the club some time, so they were better known. Compared to previous years, we've also not got one stand out player, even Billy, he's part of a strong team, he'd score goals and look a better player in most sides, but he is slightly different as you get the impression that he's more a part of the furniture now, meaning that i thing he's here for a role within the club long term

This year we have an almost entirely new squad and the known players, like Coutts, Basham, Done, Freeman have all managed to overcome previous opinions (in the main). The only real 'star' being Billy Sharp and he was unlikely to be sold or want to leave... but it wouldn't have been a surprise if he had been sold, based on history.

This window has been a refreshing in the fact that we've added strength to already strong positions, i wasn't so worried about sales, but they couldn't be ruled out (Fleck, Duffy, Freeman, Moore, Sharp). Adding the likes of Carruthers and O'Shea to a strong and creative Midfield or Adding Riley and Chapman in positions where we're ok are a big signal of intent. Even Hanson (despite my reservations on him), has a proven record at this level, so can only be seen as an improvement

I agree, just wondering how long it takes to have a go
I think he's the only Sheffield United player to win a play off final whilst being registered as one of our players.
