Yes and I'm disagreeing. At least for two and a half years out of the four Coutts was here. The other year and a half when he'd stayed fit is up for debate.

Norwood just edges Coutts for me. Coutts took a season and a half or so to find his groove, Norwood instantly transformed us. Norwood was luckier in that he came into a settled structure, but still, after Coutts’ leg break, we were very poor and very slow for at least half a season.

Love Coutts, too, though.

And did it in the PL, too.

I liked McDonald but that aside I'd like to wish him all the luck in the world, he is due to undergo a kidney transplant I hope it's a success.

What Coutts had that Norwood doesn't is that ability to tackle and make the cynical play that stifles opposition attacks.

On the odd occasions when he lost the ball you knew a foul or hard tackle was coming. When Norwood loses the ball, it takes him 20 seconds to realise and get his ass into gear to try to win it back

Coutts was my favourite, but objectively (peak) Norwood has been the best.

I'm not sure I can pick between Coutts and Norwood. I love Coutts. He'll probably go down as one of my favourite Blades of all time. I'm gutted his injury ruined his career and get annoyed any time I see Marvin Sordell hailed as some kind of mental health advocate. Last I heard, he hadn't even apologised for inflicting an injury on Coutts that ruined his career with us along with any chances of playing in the Premier League. That said, Norwood transformed our team overnight and also had a brilliant season last year pre-lockdown. I like to think Coutts would do just as well in the Premier League, but Norwood has at least proved it. K-Mac doesn't come close to either.

For my money, this role has been the most important under CWAK. Our form goes with the quality of the guy in this position. Working out who that's going to be next season is one of the biggest decisions of the off-season.
