Should the piggies manage to lose and gift us an automatic promotion place it would be the Blades luckiest moment since..............................when?

Only been around for a few years but I struggle to remember when a big slice of luck fell into our lap. In the words of the song the only kind of luck we seem to get is the bad type.

Should the planets line up on Saturday and Wycombe win the game and we put Exeter to the sword would it be our luckiest moment ever?

I really cannot remember any, save for the come back with Notts Forest, but that really wasn't good luck?

I think we had a fair bit of luck when we beat Hull in our last promotion season. Paddy could've easily been sent off before Unsworth scored in the last minute. We'd have probably gone up anyway, but at the time the win was huge and just about secured our promotion when Leeds were close behind us.

I'll save my energies until afterwards and IF we do it... at this moment, its not happening.

Again not really luck but Hulls failure to score enough goals in their last match of (83-84?) is probably the closest thing to Saturdays situation that I can think of.
And one of the goals against Palace in our league cup run in 2003 was miles offside.

It's a 46 game season, yes, an event on Saturday could turn it one way or the other but there's been countless events this season which have been lucky or unlucky. We could fail to go up with the most points ever, is that unlucky, maybe but on the flip side, two teams will have done better over the same 46 games.

If we go up on Saturday it won't be to do with good luck, it'll just be bad luck for whoever doesn't go up. The two of us have achieved points totals that definitely deserve promotion, no good luck for either of us really.

We only need Wednesday to draw if we win so that's not a huge slice of luck compared to the combination of bad luck we have suffered in the past, and as dannycorker said whoever comes third with number of points will be unlucky
