Our 'leaders'?

I remember Lee Dixon talking on Five Live once and leadership. When asked what do you want in a captain he said 'I want to look at my captain when we just went 1 goal down and there is absolutely no doubt in his face that our team we will win the match'. He then went on to talk about Tony Adams and Vierra. Unfortunately we don't seem to have this leader. We don't have that person to calm things down, lead by example and give players the belief. When we're winning things are fine. When the defence is fully fit and McDonald is playing, it doesn't matter. We pass teams off the park, control the game and we have often bounced back.

It is not all doom and gloom. How many times have we come back from being behind and won? Walsall, Notts County, Preston and Scunny are examples. The squad have shown some desire and Wilson has shown some balls and made changes. We've remained calm and shown some real belief. This did not happen under Blackwell and it certainly did not happen under Adams. However I agree with the main point. These expereinced players failed last season and they are risking doing so again. It is in their hands and I hope they prove me wrong. However it does not bode well if we don't finish top 2. Our record in big games is shocking. Our record in the play offs is abysmal. Add to that the fact that our results against the top 6 have been really bad and you're praying that we go up automatically.

This thread and most of the posters on it sums up the situation at united perfectly , no wonder we bottle the big games
Just look at some of the spineless skirt wearers posting on here , some of them haven't posted for months but as soon as we lose a few it's the same old faces just like when we wobbled under warnock on our way to the prem

I think my favourite scouser needs a little break from the forum. Why not get yourself down to Lime St and on a train to London. Come for a few beers with me and Mic in Kew and then we'll head down to the game together. We're all Blades aren't we? Even scouse ones. Although I hope your talking is more understandable than your writing legible. Do you think you could take some medication for your terrets and behave yourself for the afternoon? We'll bring a bucket to catch your saliva and some gloves top stop your knuckles getting cut when they drag along the floor .....
