An interesting point re strikers. Our second highest goal scoring strikers in the league are Brewster and Mousset who have both scored 3.

Brewster of course is a huge miss, but we’ve also sent Mousset out on loan. Whatever your thoughts on Mousset, there is no doubt he could still be being used as an impact sub and at least allowed Sharp some more rest time late on in games.

Interestingly, only 22 of our 55 league goals this season have been scored by what you’d consider to be out and out strikers. 14 of those have been scored by Billy Sharp. The stats would suggest that it isnt having no strikers available per se that is our problem, its the fact that the strikers we do have simply arent good enough.

Isn’t he also injured now?

Its not rocket science is it, we have no fit strikers, we have half a team as we've had injuries for ages. We've had two managers, we've got no money for players.
Its a miracle we are still 6th. Personally I think Hecky is doing a great job with nothing.
Let me just highlight
WE ARE 6th and CURRENTLY IN THE PLAY OFFS
Next season will be an entirely different proposition which ever league we are in.
Wish people would stop moaning and look on the bright side.
Strikers are not getting chances to miss really
are they ?
So that means we could have Kane up top doing nowt
Look at our managers track record - every club he’s managed has has a major injury problem not one or two players but 6-10 first team players injured at the same time

So that tells you something is it conditioning preparation or has he lost some of the players who just don’t buy into his five year plan ?

This may sound boring but having no striker or fit striker has been our undoing. We saw tonight how lacking we are up front. Considering how unlucky we have been with injuries, to be in the mix with 3 to play is nothing short of amazing.
We are missing the one striker who will always get you goals, hence his record this season,i give you William Sharp. The others haven't really been missed.

I don't think that's how it works. Good strikers make openings for themselves by taking up good opportunities, sniffing out half spaces, closing a defender down, being opportunistic.
Jebbison & McBurnie never look like scoring because they don't have these instincts.

There were some great balls into the box yesterday but no striker there to knock them in. Kane would have got 6 yesterday. Yesterday was a first class example of not having a striker on the pitch.
