Grab a beer, chill out, listen to this track and reminisce on all the good and bad times which make us all Blades.
Yeah there'll be plenty of moaning and opinions given but we're a great bunch of supporters who'll stick with them to the death and will still be out in great numbers for the next match. Seeing the legends at the 125 celebrations was just great and a great reminder of how special it is to be a Blade.
Today's result wouldn't have surprised any Blade but it's why we love them!!
Que sera!!

Surely the 125 dinner was just a sickening reminder of how good it USED TO BE to be a Blade?

yes we love our Blades, but I still don't expect them to capitulate to teams like Chesterfield and very nearly to reams like Rochdale and Crawley.

We do not seem to compete - when Wolves came down to BDTBL last season they competed - a bit on the hard and dirty side, they broke up our play - they were street wise - so where Charlton/Pigs and Udders when they went up - Bristol seem street wise also and NK dons have been streetwise under Robinson all the time. We seem like a bunch of pansies at times.

I don't ask for much, but I ask for a management team that makes me PROUD to be a Blade and I am not actually seeing that this season.

Well yes, scraping 1-1 v Hartlepool at Bramall Lane was just brilliant, and I'm sure all the moaners now would have loved it and been full of positive comments if this site had been available at the time.

But since you ask, that year in Division 4 wasn't as enjoyable as the second half of last season and the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley, no.

It's all about finding your level. At the moment our only chance of dominating games and scoring a decent number of goals seems to be at a level below where we are. As an aside, I cheered myself up by searching you tube for the Latest Football Scores sketch from Alas Smith and Jones. Comedy gold but a sad reminder of teams we rank along side.

Its all about money, and the fact we don't have any.

Drawing 2-2 after after having a 2 goal lead against the might of Halifax at the Lane was also a highlight, as was that 5-2 hammering at Colchester on MOTD.

People tend to see the 4th division season through rose tinted glasses. We were obviously one of the best teams in the division, but until March, we were not that brilliant and it was only then when we went on a 19 game unbeaten run that it all came together (still some poor results though - scraping 1-1 draws at home to Bury and at Aldershot). Even then, we were not certs for promotion until late April - there were 5 teams - us, Wigan, Bradford, Bournemouth and Peterborough - that had pulled away from the rest, but one would miss out and it could well have been us, until we won at Peterborough on 21st April and their season then collapsed.

96 points. 94 goals. Unbeaten at home all season. I'd take that every year, regardless of the opposition.
We went 17 games unbeaten in the early part of that season too (end Sep to early Feb), so it was hardly terrible stuff.
Exciting, attacking football to watch with Matthews, Trusson, Hatton, Neville, Morris and Edwards.
I'm not convinced any rose coloured specs were required that season.

I agree it was great fun, but we did not run away with the division by any means. We had a hard struggle with those mega giants of the 80's Wigan, Borunemouth, Bradford etc

we dont do things easy we like to keep the fans on suspenders its the blades way and cloughy is now on board

If our fans look like the woman on the left, I would like to see more of our fans in or on suspenders :)
Me too Daz,it would be a sell out every weak. There would be a problem though if a certain player takes to the field for us,just after having a text of somebody. He'd propably scare them all away, either that or they should just wear tracky bottoms instead.:D
