The below currently have Category One Academy Status. Some surprising names in there such as Blackburn and Derby, we are currently Category two status as we dont meet the current infrastructure, investment and resources criteria. I know there was talk of infrastructure investment but getting to Category One Status should be a high prioirty once the high court battle has been sorted.

Don't think we've done too badly though, Walker, Maguire, Brookes, all internationals, Dewhurst just called up.

I think you're missing the point mate, none of them are here playing for us are they? Plus we got peanuts for them, oh and Brookes was Man CIty academy, not ours, still hurts he's gone though.

Though the money brought in from their sales has partly paid for our rise from League 1 to the Prem.

Brookes, £11 million is peanuts ? Norwood for £2 million Is ?

They let him go, we buffed and polished.
And whether they play for us currently or not, they came through the academy, which means the point is quite a pointy one doesn't it??

The Academy produces plenty of professional players who may not play for the club but have a great career elsewhere.

Yes the top end players make the headlines but every year we develop players to go and make a living out of the game.

Last season it was Hallam, Gilmour and Semple.

Next season it could be Slater, Graham and Mallon

Year after that the next £10m player gets produced.

You can’t develop the top end players every year because there’s not too many top end players out there.

Longer term I hope one of the benefits of the promotion is we are able to give the academy another injection of investment and support. We’ve the best part of a 100m coming in so I think we’d do well to invest in a proportion of that in the academy.

Give it a real go in attracting the right talent, coaching and young players so safeguard the future of the club whichever division we end up in....

Cat 1 clubs are just as likely to lose their best players to other Cat 1 clubs.

If a top 6 club wants a player they will pay the money to which ever club has the player. Whether the selling club is Cat 1, 2 or 3.

Not sure we'll add to this though, even with getting promoted. Does Billy count as an academy product? Can't think of any others in the 1st team.

The worry is they were all sold quicker than you could shit in a field.
