No I am not about to challenge Roy on his superb role on the forum. I was talking to a a Northampton fan at work who told me we had good un when Wilder signed. The same person said that a group of Northampton fans were talking at their Mk Dons game in midweek and saying they think he will take us all the way. I apprciate Oxford don't rate him, but that is out of spite more than anything else. Has anyone heard anything else from any other fans.

Sunderland fans on their forum were saying he would be great for them, recently.

Is it just me that has noticed that Wendy fans have a new found admiration for him.

:D

Not long ago they called him a pub league manager

Now at least one or two acknowledge what he's done and trying to do.

Some are slagging him because basically one of us, labelling him a drunk, how he talks (pot and kettle spring to mind) and criticise his 'having a dig at them' comments during interviews. You know, a bit like Smegson used to do, but that of course doesn't count

I was listening to the EFL podcast NotTheTopTwenty. They posted on here recently about their interview with the journalist who was following Wilder around on deadline day.
In another episode, one of the presenters mentioned how he didn't like Chris Wilder. Turns out he's an Oxford fan. I still don't understand it though as he got them promoted back into the football league and comfortably kept them up afterwards.
Some Norwich fans definitely didn't take kindly to his comments after the game the other week.

Everyone else loves him though, especially wednesday fans :D

Go on the Oxford forum and you'll find a lot of Wilder hate for some unknown reason.

Ian “The Mouse” Abraham’s from Talksport Radio, a big West Ham fan
was giving a quick review of the Championship late last night.

He was giving massive praise to Wilder and said he’d “love to see SU promoted this season as it would be an incredible story”. He said he really really rates Wilder as he’s done it the hard way working his way up from the bottom.

He also said he’d love to see Cardiff promoted too as Warnock would then break the record for promotions and that would be a great story too.

More moose than mouse.

I went on the Birmingham City fans forum recently and his name came up there, although they admitted he would never come because we're doing well, they aren't and of course he's a Blade. I was just thinking he wouldn't have come even if he wasn't a Blade to be honest! Birmingham as a club seem to have gone backwards on and off the pitch.

I remember in the mid-late 90's they were a club really on the up, took big followings away and got a higher average than us for years. But over recent seasons you watch a Blues game and there is just loads of empty blue seats, they seem to struggle to get more than 20,000.

Would Sralex have gone to Tottenham, so why would Chis Wilder go to the Mackems?

I don't think I said he would did I?, the thread is about other fans views of Chris Wilder and I said that Sunderland fans were admiring him and saying he would be good for them, that's all.

Yeah, the Norwich fans thought it was very unsporting of Wilder to notice their blatant cuntish gamesmanship tactics as I recall. Yokel cunts.

Norwich fans and local media here couldn't get enough of his press conference and said he was a bad loser.

They are fucking idiots though so I take their views with a bucket of salt

Winners are often bad losers. That’s what makes them winners.
It was the constant over the top gamesmanship that rialed him.

he is getting more and more noticed and its because we play real football and we challenge the new Ideals that football can only be played right if a team spend excessive money, we challenge the idea that if a player has had a bad rep and a "Journey" like Leon Clarke he can never be effective again.

I think a lot of people wrongly look at it as "Well he is a blade" but you look at his record and its clear if he was not managing us he would be doing it with another team, he is a bloody good football manager and surround him self with people who want to succeed.

I hope he is with us for a long time and can get back the stability we had before, 6 years in the wilderness did us no favours and Chris Wilder will know it hurt all fans to see our club doing so poorly.

Because they're clueless fuckwits

By all accounts, Wilder’s team at Oxford (without the ingenious input of Alan Knill) didn’t play the superb, free-flowing, attacking, pass and move, champagne football that we do. They see him as a bit of an up and atem hoof manager.

Tony Cascarino is also a big fan of Wilder talking frequently about and to him on Talksport.

Michael Gray of Talksport is also a big fan, said he met Wilder before the season started and he was really impressed.
Gray, an ex Wednesday player, actually predicted us as dark horse for a play-off spot on the Football League Show after the 1st week.
Maybe he under estimated Wilder too because it might be top 2, not playoffs.
