We aren't having the traditional open day as such, something a little different is intended this year which should be announced soon.

One could only guess that it would be something in line with The Football League 125th Anniversary celebrations etc? Loads going on at the lane and discounts etc to fill the ground on the opening Friday night fixture?

A re-enactment of Gallipoli with the Kop standing in for ANZAC Cove?

An all day Dogging session in the car park, players cars kindly donated for the event (please, if you must Gull, bring your own tissues).

Antique Fax Machine auction?

Seriously though, I used to quite enjoy the open day. I had it down as an opportunity to introduce the young un to SUFC in a ''Look! It's not all agony'' type way.

There we go :), now kinda announced.

Due to a busy pre-season schedule, now inclusive of this home friendly, the Club can confirm that the usual annual summer Open Day will not take place this year, although plans are already in place for a fun day to take place August.

The proposed event would include the Blades holding an open training session on the hallowed turf at Bramall Lane, with supporters able to get players autographs. More details to follow.

If they stick the usual few fairground rides and stalls in the car park and open the museum.
Wouldn't that make the "August Fun Day" almost exactly the same as the usual "Summer Open Day"?

leave em to it. There was an awful lot of pork crackling that day.

What they do is of no interest to me (except maybe that at least they have their new away shirt to buy before the season starts)
