Ched.

Nah, we've had better than that preening wanker.

Next caller please ....

...was better at taking free kicks than Ronaldo. What a goal!
it was a good free kick and he has scored some awesome ones over the years. however he misses so many. There are tons of players still playing that are better at free kicks than him.

Ronaldo is the best player there has ever been. Knocks Pele, Maradona, Eusebio and Messi all into a cocked hat.
i some what agree. He is obviously one of the best players in the world however he is ridiculously overrated at free kicks.

His record at free kicks is pretty poor. That Messi on the other hand...
...impressively, the goal marked Messi’s third converted free-kick of 2017, and the 31st of his career.
Cristiano Ronaldo, on the other hand, has only scored three free-kicks since 2015, highlighting the vast difference in quality from dead ball situations between the two.
Put in simpler terms – if Barcelona’s main man missed his next 241 free-kicks he would have the same free-kick to goal ratio as Ronaldo (who has a mere 1.3% free-kick conversion rate)

Ronaldo in his first eight seasons at Madrid.

I bloody loved Borbokis. To this day, I remain gutted we sold him. It was that era, that fucking board. Was he ever as good for Derby? I don't know.

I was a kid, I've told the story before. I had the yellow Wards kit, I loved it, it was the days before shirt printing at the Lane as we know it now but I was on the way to Drakehouse with my Dad to get 2 Borbokis on my shirt. The radio was on, we parked up and it was announced he'd been sold. We turned the car around and went home. Along with Deane and Fjortoft - I hated that board and that era. It had so much potential and they pissed it all away.

Yeah there are tons of players about who score every free-kick they get... aren’t there?
I don't believe I said there were .

I said that ronaldo has a poor conversion rate from free kicks.

Pretty much this.

Peel scored 77 (teleprinter SEVENTY SEVEN) goals in 91 games for Brazil.
He is the only player in history to have won three world cups, in no small part due to his contributions.

He is the youngest player in history to score a hat trick in the WC and also to appear in the final.

I'll give you Messi and Eusebio, but the preening peacock is a very long way behind Pele as the best player in the world.

I always say Messi but they are both 2 brilliant players with not much separating them. That free kick last night was unreal.

John Peel?

Jesus - what a guy!

I’m pretty sure Thomas Hassler used to score every free kick he took for Germany.

That might be factually incorrect but my childhood memory insists it’s true.

I was going to say that I recall our Community Officer Mark Todd took a decent free kick but I see that he left that role in March.

Don't remember hearing any mention of him going at the time.

John Peel?

Jesus - what a guy!

Scored 77 (SEVENTY SEVEN) international goals for Brazil AND Invented the British police force - all at the same time as holding down a nightly presenters job on national radio. The man was a god! Tell that to kids today and they'd look at you as if you were stupid...
