… is a complete no show such as the ones we have had to suffer in the past , those against Wolves , Burnley and Palace being prime examples of this .

I believe that in our present squad we have a number of players who have the determination, pride and passion to succeed that will ensure that those nightmare scenarios will not be repeated .

That’s not to say that I don’t necessarily believe that we might not lose since these matches are often the subject of many twists and turns and entirely unpredictable events but I do believe that if we do so , it will not be in the weak and submissive way we have done in the past .

I also believe that any success may depend on our use of substitutes and in the last few games this has had a significant positive impact on the outcome of the game , as opposed to the sometimes bizarre and puzzling ones of those in earlier matches during the season .

We’re good enough to do this and something tells me we will

I’d like to think that Wilder hasn’t taken them out on the piss or on a boozy holiday all week, won’t piss off all the players so they all hate each other by the weekend and we won’t manage to get 6 or 7 key players injured before kick off.

If he manages this then we’re in a much better place than the last few play off finals.

He then needs to play the best 11 for the game, one that allows us to create something if Sunderland allow us to have the ball, but then defends in numbers if they break quickly. That is the hardest job with the squad we have available.

Despite my misgivings about Wilder and his style of management he’s the bloke I want in charge for this game, he just needs to act like it’s a normal game and not get caught up in the hype of the occasion because we’ve been poor when we’ve played the occasion this season.

We should go in their as favourites with an air of not arrogance but justified confidence.

So many times we’ve either been in dreadful form or missing key players.

Not this time. We are the superior team over the season and finished 14 (16) points better than Sunderland and managed 8 more wins in the campaign including the Playoffs.

Meanwhile they enter them on the back of losing 6 games in 7 when you consider the play off second leg was a 90 minutes defeat, and that was against a team we annihilated only recently (we all know that 3-1 with the consolation should have been 5 or 6).

They have some decent young players, but they’re not a parachute team with depth and quality all over the matchday squad. We can respect them but we have plenty of match winners and a strong bench.

Why should we not feel this way? We finished miles ahead of them in the end. We had their points total by the 8th of March!

Provided we’re up for it, we should be confident our quality will win through.

I don't expect a no show, and I don't expect us to fire a blank

Fully agree about the significance of substitutes, our use of the bench could be absolutely crucial and is the main thing that tips the scales in our favour

Wilder should and will have various scenarios planned for the substitutes. I just hope this doesn't inhibit our willingness to go for the game in the earlier stages - which we should

I doubt it will be a thrill a minute game, most games played at Wembley tend not to be........ no idea why.

If it's a cagey affair, won by 'moments', then we've been doing that all season, so will gratefully take it again on Saturday.

We've got the strength in depth and from my point of view the best squad we've ever had going into this game.

However, It's on the day, we've gotta be outstanding all over the pitch or face the consequences..

This will be my last time, regardless of the result
I’ve said that every time I’ve been to Wembley.

Block 119 Row 36…Here we fuckin are again🤦‍♂️…Why do we do it?
Until the playoff semis I wasn't going. Been to them all since 1997, utterly despondent at every one. Then Esteemed Forgeblade sort of talked me into it.
"But dad, what if we actually win? Imagine the feeling, imagine the terrible feeling of winning for once and not being there!". He was 11 in 1997, and is older now than I was then.
I hope that for us, and for Blades everywhere, they get their act together and do it.
But I'm prepared for the worst!

2 possible outcomes.

1. Sunderland do it and finally break Derby’s PL low points total next season !
2. Utd do it and the whole footballing world sees a side of Chris Wilder never ever seen before. Muchos waterworks 👌.

It will come down to who takes their chances and who makes the least mistakes.

We need Campbell to reproduce his form in front of goal from earlier in the season and we need Anel and Robbo rock solid and not dropping any bollocks.

One major advantage we have is between the sticks and I don't rayentheir keeper at all so hopefully that will be crucial
