I’ve just read the OP and the replies and I can’t see what the issue was with the OP?!

He just suggested that another couple of young Sheffield lads should be afforded the same status as Arblaster from the fans and recognised as Blades.

Not sure how anyone has read anymore into it than that?!

Ffs Houston! How dare you bring a lucid and logical post to this party.

I don't get it either.

Why has everyone jumped on him?

I got exactly the same. Even from afar (noting I can’t attend games but watch 100% at crazy hours). Ollie is being treated like the second coming of Billy Sharp and we seem to gloss over some of the others’ links to the club, possible boyhood support, and future worth.

Yes, there is excitement about Brooksy, etc. but I don’t see as many references to his past support and as much excitement about bringing through “one of our own”. Perhaps it is because they weren’t massive fans, haven’t reached the heights, or don’t talk about history of support.

Interesting thread, but I actually agree.

Peck has played well, especially today and Brooks has impressed me since he came into the team. Phenomenal against Preston.

Arblaster is the real deal, but we really have a great crop coming through and they all deserve appreciation.
Arblaster, Brooks, Oné, Marsh, Peck all seem good prospects. Can’t wait to see how they all develop.

Nice to know this place isn't completely filled with sad losers who need to fill their sad little lives with insulting a random person 👍

Not all Blades are we

Because it seems that this place is filled with low life bullies whose pathetic existence is only made better by punching down on others it seems 🤷‍♂️

Thank you, exactly the point

Probably part of it is the club knowing for some years how good Arblaster was going to be, they've known for a few years. Think they've always seen him as a leading light and future captain etc

Could Peck be one of our own? Can't see if he was born in Sheffield, and he was trained by Arsenal really.

Is it just being born or do they have to support to be classed as one of our own?

There a few of our own chant really doesn't flow well.

I like the fact Marsh and Arblaster went to nursery school together. Some under 2 side that.
There some of our own does 🤷‍♂️

But that's not the point 🤣

The last bit is, how amazing is it to hear that.

Marsh hasn't had a senior league game yet. I'm sure people think highly of him.
I don't think songs on a cup night mean anything, normally poor for that. Especially as a breakthrough player. I didn't know how long he'd been at the club, also home and away fan with blaster for many years.
When he makes his debut on a league match day, he'll get a great reception.

That's a fair point about Marsh, I was just expecting we were waiting for the time, but again it is a cup game.

What about Brooks though?

That makes sense, but I do still think the others deserve the same recognition for being one of us 🤷‍♂️

I've tried that when we've gone on the SS on a friendly or cup..people throw Werthers at you or tut.
Surprised they haven't started doing that on the Kop as well, atmosphere is dire in comparison to what it used to be

You made a minor point that plenty thought didn't really need making.

You've ramped that up, to talk about 'bullying' and this 'cess pit'.

Are you really sure t'interweb is for you?

Hopefully that will get a reboot this season.
That's why I'm asking this question, it seems the success of our own has been one of the few things to really lift the place back to what it used to be, we should be leaning on it as much as possible.

This is an Internet forum to talk about the Blades, it would be pretty shit if nobody did that wouldn't it, so why be a dick? I take it you are another person who swans around life without a care for how your actions effect people, it must be nice 👍 good for you.

Human decency isn't for everyone

I think the atmosphere at the lane has definitely deteriorated. I remember going as a younger man and starting chants on the Kop but now my lad attends with a group of his mates and they are far too cool to start a chant. Maybe a standing section in the Kop is needed to bring back the good old days. I couldn’t be in it though. Not with my arthritic hips.

Not sure it matters really. All of the young lads get decent support whenever they play
Of course they do, and rightly so, but wouldn't it mean more to you?

I know it would mean everything to me to hear that chant playing for my team 🤷‍♂️ or any team.... heck It would feel great if people could just not be twats on here 😐

FYI not you 🤣
