As no one seem interested in my one goal wonders post, how many one game wonders can we get - i.e. a player who made only one appearance - full or sub in a league, league cup of FA Cup game.

I'll start off with

Julian Broddle
Brian Launders
Nathan Peel
Nigel Steane
Carl Muggleton

I was interested - great read.

Stewart Baxter?
Ebbrell?
Tommy Johnson?
Tyrone Thompson?

All right except Tyrone Thompson. He played three games I think - two in the LC in 2000 and one in the FAC in 2003. And it was Lee Baxter :-)

A few more

Chris Bettney
Ryan Mallon
Lewis Killeen
Kristian Rodgers
Evan Harwood

Any chance you saying what the match was in each case please?

There was also Danny Baath last season but I can't recall which game he played in.

Also Aymen Tahar in the cup game at Hull on 26/2/09.

And Gary Kelly at Watford 4/5/03

Ashley Fickling in a league cup match

what about Manuel Thetis?

David Irving?
Peter Dornan?
steve McKee?

What about that Italian defender circa 2004/05 (I think) - Gabrielli I think he was called.

Gary Kelly, Alan's brother played against Watford last game before play offs in 2002/03. I missed my flight home afterwards.

Next test then.

Apert from the Quinn's,Kelly's and Scott's how many brothers have played for us? Not necessarily at the same time.

If we're allowed really tenuous ones and to include training, then Jostein & Tore-Andre Flo :D

and if we're allowed trialists.... Phil & Steve Jagielka.

Tore-Andre trained with us did he? He must have been well shit by that point.

I wondered what ever happened to him and it turns out he is still only 28 but has dropped down the leagues. He now plays for Conference North side Droylsden.

Wilko de Vogt?
Andy Sayer?

Li Tie played only once, I think, in the league cup against Bury.

Sagi Burton never actually played. Everyone else on that list played more than once.

Darren - Brian Launders played at Stockport, not WBA (the date looks right though)

Another one is Richard Edghill, away at Ipswich 2002-3

Yes, you are right about Launders.

Three more

Manu Thetis - 14/4/01 v Gillingham (a)
Emanuele Gabrieli 17/10/04 v Gillingham (a)
Kingsley James 11/8/10 v Hartlepool (a)

Of players still on our books Steve Kennedy, Jordan Chappell, George Long and Ryan Flynn only have one game.

Ashley Fickling in a league cup match

what about Manuel Thetis?

David Irving?
Peter Dornan?
steve McKee?

Fickling played in two league cup matches - against Wigan on 8/10/91 and 3 years later v Bolton on 25/10/94.

Irving played twice as sub in Sept 75 and Dornan made 3 appearances in Dec 76. McKee also played 3-4 times in 76-77.
