One of my favourite parts of that was the McCall assist for Kabba's equaliser – magnificent tenacity.

I was watching this at uni in Edinburgh, the only United fan in the pub. At Quinn's goal, I suddenly realised there was a Wednesday fan in (quiet up till then, didn't know him) who started wildly celebrating. He then had to endure each of my own celebrations – the Brown goal in particular. The guy left in a huff promptly after the Chief had added insult to injury.

In 2012, as best man I helped organise a stag do for the derby match at Hillsborough. The groom? That Wednesday fan, who I met properly 2 years after the first meeting. Funny world.

I was stood on the seats at the back of John St, when the 3rd goal went in we all jumped up and forgot about the reclining seats. We all fell into a crumpled pile down the stairs and the pain was beautiful. Regularly shutting those bastards from south Barnsley up was a highlight of my younger years.

Never been prouder of a United side than that season, I can even forgive the play-off defeat.
See this is the Sheffield United I remember. This bunch of muppets we have now aren't fit to lace their boots.

True dat

But Kabbs was wearing gloves! Doesn't that mean that he's the personification of evil? o_O

What a night this was, unbelievable atmosphere and epitomized that entire season. I doubt we'll ever have another season like that.

My favorite memory of this game was when brown scored....the old fella sat in front of us on the kop used have a cigar every game, ironically he was just lighting up as brown smashed in his goal, as we and everyone else around him were going mental he was just stood there laughing whilst coolly toking on his Cuban. Couldn't have timed it any better!

my favorite season following the blades, think I went to about 45 out of the 60 games, every penny I earned as a 17/18 year old in college went on the blades, brilliant memories.

What we're seeing now isn't the real United. That was the real United.

Warnock as passionate as ever, players giving everything for him and the cause.

Just puts things into perspective for how low we've sunk.

Were you there? Happy memories indeed. And I agree, the quality has indeed sadly diminished since then.

I did 59 of the 63 games that year I missed palace and Wimbledon away And reading and ipshit away as well.

Quality season as you say - no student loan for me but maxed up 3 credit cards and got absolutely bolloxed at every game - was the pre married man days as well and ranks as a quality season for me but ultimately failed :-(

Just about to say the same, almost nothing to play for, he's busy hassling and makes sure he gets a foot in, which leads to the first goal, absolutely fantastic and at 38 years old too.

Worst part about these moments is the stark reminder of how fucking woeful we currently are

This day was better than the day my son was born..

If cameron reads this then sorry.....

Soz.cam...xx

Been watching the Blades for 30 odd years and that Brown goal is my favourite. We had a really good, exciting team at that time. It's not often I go into a derby feeling confident but I did that night.

As 2003 progressed I believed that at the Sports personality of the Year awards there could only be one 'team of the year'. That is until Johnny Wilkinson 'hoofed' another shaped ball over the bar.

Could you imagine the red faces at the BBC having to give Warnock and the Blades 'Team of the Year'. But we were that good.

I was supplementing my meagre income at the time by djing at my local student bar. Managed to get them to turn a TV round so I could see it from the Dj booth, and at the time the free kick was swung in was in the middle of of a particularly delicate and poorly executed mix. Brown cracked it in and I went mental in the booth, utterly oblivious to the increasingly galloping-horses like sound emanating from the speakers, and the bemused looks from the two people that I had managed to coax onto the dance floor.

I think The Sun gave us their team of the year award.

Amazing night, amazing season. That Brown goal is the best I've ever seen

What a stadium, miles better than Wembley.
Agreed, fantastic stadium. I was about halfway up on the third tier and still seemed like I was about 6 feet away from the pitch.

What would I give for a striker like Steve Kabba today .......................... pace to burn and knew how to finish, it all went a bit wrong for him when he moved back down south. What would we give for another Michael Brown in midfield ? Not all of the team were great players but the players made one hell of a great team.

Pressman pulled off some great saves, otherwise it could've been a real hammering.
Every time, I'm sure when they beat us 2-0 at the sty we had something like 30 attempts at goal, it was actually embarrassing how bad they were, but it was also embarrassing relying on Asaba and Onoura to score for us.......
