Tonight he brought nothing. But otherwise, he just brings a bit of chaos. He’s an out ball who can shake up defenders. Nine times out of ten the end product will be poor, but he stretches the field, and when that one time out of ten comes, we’ll be lauding him as a £30 million striker. Hopefully people are realising that there won’t just be a lightbulb moment with him though. He’s a tremendous athlete but a poor footballer.Burke, I am sorry, adds absolutely fuck all.
Disagree. Burke was a liability and brought us down to nine men effectively. Brave call from wilder and agree with his comments.

'A fucking tosser' you called him in Shoutbox. A team performance like that and you go out of your way to call one of our players a fucking tosser. What a guy.Burke, I am sorry, adds absolutely fuck all.
When he signed, I was keen to try and find any kind of evidence that he could thrive. Maybe he’d never had a run of games, maybe he’d never had a run of games up front, maybe he was late to the sport. None of that. He was in the Forest academy since the age of eight and has played a mixture of winger and striker in four different European leagues. At 23, I wouldn’t rule out some kind of progress. But I can’t see him getting there really. He’s just not got the ability. I don’t buy into “there’s a player on there” or “just needs coaching”. There’s an absolute athlete in there, you just can’t coach what he doesn’t have IMO when it comes to the highest level. If he doesn’t sharpen up, once his pace goes, he’s going to tumble down the leagues.
Maybe clumsy words from Wilder, again, but nothing to see here.
Thing is, if I’d heard wilder say that in one interview, I’d say it was clumsy. He said it in at least two.
He‘s never been great with words.![]()
Yet he has this reputation as a master motivator. Does he wank them all off pre match, or give rousing speeches?
Sadly he's not a footballer, not meaning to be distrepectfull put maybe he should take up the 100metres or Athletics in some form. When he signed, I was keen to try and find any kind of evidence that he could thrive. He clearly brought him on to deal with late balls in the box and potential corners. There was nobody else he could really bring off.I agree with Wilder's comments, doesn't mean that he should say it.
Burke was very good against Manchester United and has shown promise in other matches, needs a lot of coaching but there is a player there. Certainly more effective than Robinson.
I Agree, normally I don't mind the pace & effort he can bringThought he was really poor and also work rate tonight too. Could have put a lot more effort in as only on for 30 minutes.
Hi, Stegosaurus here
Burke reminds me of when the special kid at school did PE and just ran around at full speed getting in everybody's way.
And I'll jump in before anyone comments. No, I wasn't the special kid.
I don't agree. It's certainly true he has no football brain at all but his basic skills are awful for a professional player. His shooting is awful, is ball control is very poor (how often does he lose control of the ball when he's essentially just dribbling on his own?), he has no positional awareness at all, and he constantly mistimes jumps for headers. If they don't already, the club needs to employ a sports psychologist and book Burke in for some intensive sessions. His shortcomings are nothing to do with his physical attributes, it's all about what's going on between the ears. He needs to be taught / coached to develop a bit of ice in his veins and make better choices.
Countless times this year he's been in positions that the simple, unselfish option is the right one and would have lead to very good chances. A little cut back, a drilled cross to feet etc. You saw a moment of that last night - he ran himself into a dead end out on the John Street touch line and had a moment when the blood stopped pumping to his legs and his brain got some attention and he laid the ball off to a player in a better position. Needs more of that in the vital moments and he'll be away.
See, I think so many of his issues are to do with him not having the time to think. He only has one primary mode - receive ball, head down, aim for the big white rectangle. If he could find a way to give himself a moment of clarity when in decisive moments, he could become an assist king. Thats where he needs to change. He needs to stop only seeing his roll as a goal scorer and realise one of, if not the greatest asset is letting other people score with the space and situations he creates.I don't agree. I am amazed that a player this poor has been sold twice for multi million pounds.
