Good effort , but may I suggest the following improvements which could make it a strong contender for this year's Ivor Novello awards :-

* At line 2 , substitute 'and' for ' but' .

* There are 2 too many syllables in line 4 so just drop 'in the' .

# nitpickersrus.

Sounds good to me .
