Just admiring the simplicity of Wimbledon's new Admiral kit for the coming season and it led me to casting my eye back on a supplier who quite possibly created some of the finest Blades kits of yesteryear in my own humble opinion.
It has to be said that I am somewhat a traditionalist when it comes to football kits and whilst Adidas are a leading brand who in all fairness have created a decent enough kit for the coming season, I do find myself longing for a bit of retro simplicity.
Once again this leads me back to Admiral who appear to be making a leap back into the British market as a manufacturer again! I had a quick at the kit builder on the website and I am overjoyed and almost slightly aroused to see some fantastic retro templates, the one of note being the "sheffield" template. The iconic seventies number worn by such greats as Currie, Woodward and Sabella.
Now I know that this might ruffle a few feathers of the Adidas lovers however would it be such a bad thing to revert back to a traditional, British manufacturer like Admiral upon completion of the kit deal? After all we don't need our team to wear snazzy, modern stock templates.....It would be great to have a bit of "authenticity" back!
To give you an idea of the beautiful retro templates on offer take a look below at a few quick "mock ups" of away kits from the kit builder. A case could be made for each as I am sure you can agree however my head and heart sway towards the first.
As for the home kit. This quite simple! Bring back the lovely, traditional, thick striped Admiral shirt from the seveties!
