What will be interesting, will be to see if there are offers for any of our players in the January Transfer Window.

It will be another test of our resolve, if we receive offers for Murphy or Reed who are about the only two likely to attract interest.

In an ideal world, we would be able to ship out players like Collins & Doyle who are probably the highest earners and dead wood like Higdon, Porter, McGinn, but also I would suggest loaning Baxter & Scougal to the Championship ( since they are proving ineffective in this agricultural Division ) to free up some wages for 5 or 6 players who CAN be consistent at this level.

Whats depressing is we no longer have a single player I would be gutted to see leave.

Louis Reed. For my money the best natural footballer at the club and one with huge capacity to develop. Barring injury or distraction, the lad could make our games worth watching for years to come.

I just hope we see a few seasons of him before he leaves. And that means getting promoted ASAP.

If Murphy left and we didn't replace him, like we normally don't,we'd really struggle and propably wouldn't even be in the playoffs 'atm'.

Too inconsistent to be "gutted" if he left. Clearly has ability, but I have seen him play in too many games where I have forgot he was even playing.

Seems to have potential but has not done enough to affect me that much. The depressing days of the Beatties and Maguires leaving are over. Now its the depresion of not having anyone I would be that upset to see leave.

Not even your same civil partner ?

I understand that mate but i think we'd only really know if or when he goes in January, and i personally think he would be a very big loss for us,unless we sign Robben:)

I enjoy watching players develop. Lowton and Maguire were a terrific watch despite the shite that our spell in this league represents.

So yes, I'd be very sad to see Reed leave. In odd flashes he does things with ease that others may never do.

These thread should be pinned so we can look back at them.
In the summer there were similar comments about how our board would probably accept a couple of million for Scoogs and how typical it was of our lack of ambition.

Well if we sold the lot of them it might raise enough to pay the Prince his £1 back I suppose.

Thats fair enough about the development. Out of curiosity, what do you think he does in flahses that no one else can?

Would you really be gutted to see him leave? In flashes he looks great, but for me, if the full back has any brain cells or pace, thats Murphy done for the game.

Can you imagine if he stayed for the rest of his career whilst we got up and stayed up in the premier league and he plays for England. Very possible (his part at least).

Why would you not be gutted to see our best player leave? Because that's what he is - you must agree? He may not perform amazingly every single game but as far as wingers go, he's put in enough very good performances over the course of this and last season, in a side that has sometimes looked devoid of creating any chances whatsoever. He's not Eden Hazard but he's probably our League 1 equivalent...

If he is so good how come he gets dropped every time he plays ?

All SUFC players are so inconsistent like Mr Clough is with the team selections . We play players out of position , do not give the a player a continuos run in the team , and i think the players do not know if they are coming or going .

I know Reed is only a young lad , but with a strong midfielder by his side , the kid would excel even more .

Every player has a price , and SUFC will sell if the right offer comes along for player or manager . Due to finances we are a selling club , always have been and always will be.

I wonder what raving lunatics people think are out there that could possibly want Higdon and Porter!
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh idle talk, someone might be listening.

I would not like to see Murphy leave. No matter what people say about inconsistancy, he has the skill, some pace, and goals in him as well. I think a fit and motivated Baxter would always be an asset, Reed has skill. The under used Ben Davies can still play a role.

He hardly ever plays

He's only a kid so quite rightly he is being 'looked after'.

I really think he is better than Jags was at the same age.

I also think he will go the same way as the Kyles as opposed to Jags, I.e. Sold before he gives us another contract deal.
