Look's like a tough month, Charlton, Preston, Piggies and MK. After that lot we might have some idea how good we are.

Yep we were hanging on against a mediocre Tranmere today.
Its good that we have a good start to the season but we have seen nothing yet I reckon.

Sorry all but when it comes to key month identification Swiss is the only show in town.
True, fair point but I think the first 60 minutes against Walsall told all who were there alot about how good we are - ie not very good at all. This will remain the case until we get pace and athleticism into the side, and a new keeper.

We hung on that much that their keeper celebrated the final whistle like they'd won the league.

yes i think by the end of october once sheffield utd have played likes of Scunny, Huddersfield, Charlton, Preston, Wednesday and MK Dons. the league table will be 80/90% accurate of what it will be in may and if we can still be top 2 or 6 by end of october then id be bloody happy. but remember sheffield utd have relatively comfortable for most of the games and you can only beat whats in front of you
and also i expect sheffield utd to beat everton on tuesday
Yeah we have a chance against Everton since I will assume they are going to put their reserves out.

I'm thinking that we may well see a full strength Everton side on Weds night. The financial dirty laundry at Goodison has been aired now for all to see, Moyes must be thinking that a run in the League Cup and/or FA Cup would be one of his best routes to securing some transfer funds. No doubt Bill Kenwright will have told him the same.
