Needs dropping. Doesn’t create enough and his link up play is poor, gives the ball away a lot, lacks a yard of pace and doesn’t look a natural finisher. I can’t understand how he gets in the team.

Who replaces him?

I feel ohare has been brought in to play between the lines, drop I to pocket of space and turn woth the ball and he's just not doing that currently, if anyone wayxh the pre season friendly vs Harrogate then I think he's been brought in to play exactly like that and at the moment he's just not doing that.

Even if he was performing to the level expected, starting him every game was always a ridiculous idea. Yet Wilder seems hell bent on doing so no matter how much he underperforms

Start dipping him in and out, and I suspect we'll see better results
I agree, them number 10 attacking flair players don't perform as well playing every game 90 minutes. We didn't do that with Brooks or McAtee and got the best outta them.

I’d have played Brewster, Brooks, JRS, and Peck before him last night. Maybe not directly in his position but others could move into a more attacking central role (Hamer for example) and get the best players on the pitch. He offers fuck all!

There’s about 5 other threads on the same topic. Not sure what you’ve pointed out that warrants a new one
Where? I searched before I started one. Couldn’t see anything directly related to O’Hare’s performances. Point it out please and ask to get it merged. If not then shut the fuck up!

The problem with O'Hare is that he is less effective than we hoped. His lack of pace does not suit how we set up to play. If we are dominating possession and our defenders are playing a high line he can be effective as he can take a ball to feet and turn or play someone in. His touch can give him some space and head start away from defenders.

If we are pinned back then he is a poor option for an outball. He doesn't have enough pace to get away clean.

Playing him with Moore doesn't really work. Moore is effective if we lump it forward as he competes and tries to bring others into play. But only effective if the support is pacey enough to work off of him.

In the last few games there seems to be too much distance between defenders and attackers, making it difficult to hold on to the ball. After 20 min against Leeds, our midfield had been sussed and exposed. Arblaster was less effective, Hamer was poor, Burrows is not a midfielder. Defensively Shackleton is poorer than Gilchrist but better on the ball. RND was solid enough without being spectacular. I would prefer Burrows to RND at left back. For the last 20min our defence was all over the place. Souttar went too far forward on a few occasions a left gaps that were exploited.

We look like a bunch of individuals rather than a composed slick team. Lots of work to be done on the training ground.

I think this is a pretty good assessment of O'Hares struggles lately. When he does get isolated playing off Moore, he just doesn't have the attributes to pull it off, IMO.

It's something CW needs to consider, as to be effective he needs runners, and players closer around him.

Brewster? Bloody hell! I like Brooks but not sure he has done a lot either. JRS has been decent though for sure. Peck it’s too early to say really.

The major problem was not being able to get the ball from the back three (and Vini) to the other players, on the deck. As a result the wing backs, O'Hare, Moore, Arblaster and Hamer were essentially passengers in possession. The reluctance to try something different to solve this structural problem was mind boggling. When we went longer into Moore he actually won more than his fair share. The Leeds CBs made a bit of a mess of what should've been easy situations/clearances. They let the ball bounce and panicked quite a bit.

O'Hare is a luxury player. When you're on top and can give him the ball that's when he looks good. He's never going to thrive in a scrap when you can't pass water.

Disagree with this. In games when we’ve been on top he’s been wasteful. His end product is very poor and I’d rather an extra striker on the pitch or a genuine AM when we’re on top.
His biggest strength seems to be in carrying the ball and helping the team transition which should make him look better when it gets scrappy as he should be helping to relieve pressure but he isn’t even doing this well.

I can’t understand why he’s suddenly slow. Against Harrogate in pre-season I thought he looked rapid. Granted, they’re lower league opposition, but that shouldn’t have robbed him of pace.

10 games in. It’s plenty of time to judge. Waste of money. Another shit signing by Wilder.
The judgement on O'Hare is maybe a tad early... how he's utilised open for debate.

However the criticism of Wilder in this instance is ridiculous.

O'Hare on a FREE was a decent bit of business, given our circumstances at the time

‘Lil Ben upgraded to ‘lil Cal 💪

When on form he does well, created a couple for Hamer?

But the tough games tend to pass him by, not sure if we need to give him time, he does seem settled?

Either way a freebie and he a tie for Gus - who was also poor against Leeds
