Now Wenger is leaving Arsenal

I'm sure there are a few people around here (won't mention any names) anxiously going about their Friday worried about this happening!!

The only way Wilder goes to Arsenal is if he books a stadium tour like the rest of us!!

Lukhay has already been on it. Wanted to know what a trophy room looked like ;)

They did spunk £60m on s striker in Jan after spending £50m on one last Summer. Plus are now paying £300k a week to Ozil.

This myth that Wenger didn't spend money is wrong.

He just spent it badly. £33m for Mustafi and £40m for Xhaka being the most recent examples...

His was 'lucky' at the start of his Arsenal reign. He inherited the bones of a very good side, and added a couple of very, very fortuitous purchasers of players he knew and where out of favour. He also changed the set up & levels of professionalism (similar to Chelsea). He managed to repeat that a couple of times more, but with decreasing quality. He has struggled since to keep players and to recruit similar quality. The European game caught up with and overtook him & his club and he's been unable to react.

You've summed up in a paragraph what a lot of journalists have made a career out of writing over the past decade.

Another urban myth is this Wenger brings youth players through. Jack Wilshere is the only one genuine youth prospect to make it in recent years and even he hasn't hit the heights! Look how well the Ox is thriving under a different manager...

Arsenal, the club of self entitlement. I’m sick of hearing them roararseing that they’ve not won this or that like they should be doing. Their so called fans are deserting quicker than the fucking Iraqi navy at the minute the fickle cunts. £35 million for Mustafi! You havin a fackin bubble mate!

What I mean't was they won't blow money beyond what they can afford and certainly won't go into deep debt as a knee jerk reaction to get out of trouble. OK, they bought a couple of duds but putting this into context with the club's relative wealth, this is no different to us doing the same with Holmes and Leonard.

If I was their board, I'd be moving Heaven & Earth to get Simeone.

Love CW, but he's as much chance of getting the Arsenal job as I have, they'd never dare.
IMO I would go for Maurizio Sarri. Currently doing an awesome job at Napoli and loves attacking football. Simeone has done a great job at Athletico but I think he is too defensive.

I think they will probably try and lure the likes of Enrique & Allegri, fail in attracting them and go for a tier b option.

What does this mean for CW and United? Would he leave his boyhood club for a club where there are massive expectations and an expectant fan-base?
Hopefully the Prince and Kev can get their act together to keep him here and avoid any approaches from North London

You can't claim BTL as a catch. Too easy.

if Arsenal were to go for a younger unproven english manager then it would be Sean Dyche without a doubt, he's the most proven out of the younger generation of managers Dyche, Wilder, Rowett, Monk, Howe etc

Wilder has begun to remind me of a certain Arsenal manager from the first half of the last century. Never really set the world alight as a player (including a stint with the Blades) but as a manager is already beginning to rethink the game.

I kid you not when I was playing football manager back in 2010 (I think) I remember the game having Kevin Blackwell being appointed as Arsenal manager after Wenger's retirement

Don't you think that Chris already feels that he is being, 'taken up the Arsenal' by the co-owners and their in-house bickering????:oops::oops:

He won’t even be in their top 20 wanted list.

They’ll want another foreign manager.

If they did approach him though he’d be crazy to say no.

I'm alarmed at the amount of people that have missed the joke
That is a huge disappointment, I was looking forward to the pre season friendly as the transfer fee.

That's it, we're buggered. Enjoy the rest of the season because it's the last good one we'll have for a while. Wilder will be off to Arsenal and he'll take Brooks, Duffy, Coutts and the Desso with him. :(

A straight swop would be ok if he brings half his players with him

Neil Harris is easily the manager of the season in this league. Why on earth would Wilder be ahead of him in any pecking order. He's had a much smaller budget and performed miracles.

Next King Gooner will undoubtedly be Enrique. Simeone will probably go to Chelski.

We’re just going to Wembley.

Magic Does Happen

You say fail, but this might throw a spanner in works for Chelsea. Because looked like Luis Enrique was going but given the choice between 2 years where chelsea give up by november of 2nd season or arsenal where he might be able to build

I was told Arsene would only leave when it was confirmed Chris would take charge

And when Chris leaves, we'll appoint the former manager of Lopham Street Meths.

After all, he did lead his team to promotion from the second division of the Bible Class League.

In fairness, I think Aubameyand and Lacazette might get some service if Arsenal could cut out the midfield.
