Palace at home was the only game where we looked any good. Sure we won a few and drew a couple but don't believe the hype... (don't don't don't believe the hype... whoo-hoooor-errrr)

You can almost feel the happiness and relief in the knockers words, what has it been, seven unbeaten? You were all fit to burst!!!

No hype at all, just pure results. A draw wouldn't have been an unfair result today, Leicester were ok, as we were really. Let down by Bunn for the first and Monty for the second. Average league.

We're all well aware it is an average league. Problem is for your defence of Blackwell is that our wage bill is far from average.

For me last night was a yard stick, following a good run against some lower to mid table teams (Scabs aside - How they are up there is beyond me!).

I thought the first half was embarrasing - we were set up to play defensively (as always away from home) and we were rubbish! No threat up front, a shambolic midfield lacking any quality made up of too many workhorse like players, and basic defensive errors. It could have been far worse than 2 - 0.

Second half saw an improvement - we didn't concede, and Camera - who should start on Monday at least gave us a threat up front.

My conclusion is that if we persevere with the team and tactics from last night we will fall well short of the playoffs. The poor football, poor signings and negative tactics give me very little confidence. Losing Killa makes matters worse!

On the plus side, this league is very average and we do have Williamson, Henderson and possibly Naysmith to come back, (if we don't offload him in January). If we can somehow replace Killa, get our strongest team out playig some footballers and ditching the negative tactics then perhaps there is a possibility of a top six finish?

With our high wage bill, and poor football I just don't think I am getting value for money! Does anyone beg to differ?

Anyone for a massed 'wrist slitting'..?

Dunc/Any other Blackie supporters,

Are you of the opinion that Blackwell is the right man fullstop or are you in similar mind to me that he needs to be given till the end of the season before we consider replacement?

If the latter, what would you need to see inorder for him to keep his job?

For me it has to be improvement on last season but I wonder if that is the consensus for those who aren't on the Blackie out bandwagon.

I don't think there's any point in changing things now, it might seem negative but write this season off, don't spend now, bring someone in in the Summer who can re-build the team around a different set of ideas and tactics.

I don't mind Blackie having some funds in January but I certainly wouldn't empty the coffers. He will need at least £2 Million just to replace Killa and fill some of the gaps.
He also has the loan market which he needs to use this better than we have.

That's going to look pretty stupid if we get relegated... ;)

The Killa money (if the rumoured £500K is true) will just cover the deal for Cresswell and it wouldn't surprise me if the wages aren't that different either. The worry, as it has been for the last x number of transfer windows, is that most deals won't be done until the end of the month and as of next week we're going to be at least a keeper and a CB down from the 1st team.

Blackie will need funds to plug the gaps but I wouldn't be giving him the rumoured couple of million because I think we all know the type he'll bring in, a few speedy youngsters to sit in the stands and a couple of old pro's on big money for the 1st team.

We could have pinched a draw, but we wouldn't have deserved it. Moreover it could easily have been 5 to 2 to Leicester. We weren't ok...far from it. I agree we were let down by Bunn and Monty, but tbh, we were let down all over the pitch in my opinion. A very poor display. And to add, I've seen that display by United far too many times.

You could be right. I also think some fans are getting over excited about what Camara has to offer. That said he has deserved a starting place but I think he will turn out to be one of those head down blinkers on type forwards who don't make the right choices when better opinions are available.

Personally I think signing Cresswell would be a bad move, we've had him on loan and he hasn't performed well in the majority of his games so why sign him?

Because Hendo is either out until Feb at least or on his way depending which rumour you believe and as we know, Blackie can't comprehend a team without a 'big man' up front.

Camara looks to have that bit of class about him, although I agree he looks a bit head down and greedy at times. Having said that, isn't about time we had that type of goal scorer in the team ? I still think Ched and Wardy up front would be a decent pairing but it looks like we've got Cressy up there for the foreseeable, at least he's likely to score against his old club tomorrow.

Not heard any rumour about Relish Fleety, what have you got?

I heard a few weeks ago that he's currently being kept in cotton wool pending a move to Bolton. Probably rubbish but he's certainly a Smegson type player.

I should add that this may also speed up the inevitable sight of Kevin Davies in a Blades shirt.

They would be absolutely mad to consider getting rid of Davies - it would effectively end any hope they have of staying up, plus any hope Megson has of saving any support from the Bolton fans, who have never really been happy with him.

Yep, as I say, probably rubbish although you might be surprised to know that Davies has a similar love / hate split relationship with the fans as Hendo does with us, some would be happy to see him go.

I can see why Bolton need cover for Davies. But Hendo? In the Premiership?

That would truly be the end of Megson.

Don't forget Blackie has been trying to get Shittu from them for over a season as well and although he turned us down previously, a swap deal involving him is probably more likely.

I'm surprised to hear that. In the event that Davies became available though, I imagine that there would be interest in the Premiership - he is the type of player that I'm sure Alladyce, Pulis and probably others would be interested in. Hilarious if you're right though.

We havnt been that good even during our little unbeaten run. None of the performances lately have been anything thats given our opponents much to think about.

Why don't we ask for 50k a week Cahill to join us alongside 30k a week Davies ?
