Reported in The Mirror as being £800k

Having said that, if we get him and Simmo, the squad will look a good deal stronger.

The combined fees received for BS and PK should pay for Nossy and Simmo with something left over to get (perm any combination of the following imho):

1 x further cb
1 x further gk
1 x fb (possibly 2)

Either that, or the remaining balance goes towards the wage bill budget.

I can't for the life of me understand why so many of our fans are so dismissive about Nosworthy. He's a top Championship defender and you'll realise this next season.

I agree, he's a very good player. Our fans have forgotten what a good footballer looks like so wouldn't know. He's worth 800K of anyone's money - we should get him before someone else does.

Because every single time I watched him last year, a bit of cack appeared in my pants. He fills me with dread when he even thinks about trying to touch the ball. He's clumsy, almost Claude Davis-esque in his manner and he tried insane things where simple options would do. Plus he lumps it a lot.

What is he anyway? He's too small for a centre half but doesn't look like a full back.

Yes he gave me a few hairy scary moments, but I also feel he is a decent cb. Strong and difficult to shake off the ball. For me tho, he must play cb and not rb.

Who next tho? We still need cover, with another gk (after simmo) and another cb (after Nossy) Ideally there should be 4 x cb's in the 1st team squad. At the moment, we have one with possible cover from a middy in Ertl. It aint enough. Same aplies to the gk position. We've got rid of 2 x gk's. Logic would assume that we need 2 x gk's as replacements. Simmo...........great if it happens, but who else?

Name an incident where he cost us a goal????........

He's a far better player than Claude Davis and how is he too small to be a centre half? He's 6 foot, as his profiles online will tell you and he's built like a brick-shit house!

I know Sheffield folk like centre halves who will just put their foot through the ball or stick their gammon joint head on it, but not all centre halves are the same. If you listen to most of our supporters, we dont play enough football and punt it long all the time. If you dont want a player like Nosworthy then expect the same primative approach as always. He's different and tries to keep the ball down - you just cant please people can you

Getting away with it doesn't make it alright.

Besides, I don't agree that he always tries to keep it down. I've seen him aimlessly lump it into the air plenty of times.

Yes it does. But getting away with what exactly? Being a little unorthodox or playing with confidence? Other than that I cant see what it is he does so wrong. If we start shipping goals due to his blunders that argument might start to have some substance. I'm sorry but I just dont understand the basis of those opinions at all.

We're clearly watching different players.

I wouldn't pay 800k.

Neither will Kevin McCabe. IF we sing him it will be for much less than that.

Not sure how I feel about this one. He is quick and hence he could partner Morgs, but he is prone to mistakes. With the amount of defenders we have then i'd buy him, but qaulity has to come in at some point. If Bartley, Seip and Nos are in contention then we need to think about who is the best. I guess we have the guy from palace in contention too. I'd sooner but looking for quality at this point and I'm not convinced Nosworthy is (but I could be wrong as i only saw him play a few times).

£800K is a lot of money for a player who is nearly 30 and will have no resale value. I'd rather have Bartley back on a full one season loan and invest that sort of fee on a pacy, exciting young striker (21-26 year old).

Watford away and Scunthorpe at home straight off the top.

I remember the Watford away one. But that mistake could have been made by any defender. We're discussing ball playing mistakes from his 'supposedly' cavalier approach.

The Scunthorpe goal was bad defending all round. Nosworthy wasnt solely to blame for that.

Reports today are suggesting it's around the £500k mark, which imo would be realistic and acceptable provided he doesn't bleed the club to death with unrealistic wage demands
