According to The Sun we're set to use £500,000 of the Billy money to pay for Nosworthy.

Imo, we need to sign 2 x cb's. If the reports are true that De Merit is on his way, along with Nossy, then those positions with cover are taken care of.

Just leaves one or two full backs. Someone mentioned last night that Dickinson is due at the Lane. Not sure what to think on that one as some suggest press reports that Prseton are set to sign him.

I just hope we're not smashing the wage structure for this guy. I'd like him in the squad but he isn't worth altering our priorities for.

Yep, I think he's a good player and a capable CB but like you said we shouldn't push the boat out for him. However if we got him for sensible wages + transfer fee he would be an excellent signing.

BTW, in another story a Sunderland rag reckons they're going to let several fringe players go

Well quite a few could do a job, the question is out of that lot who can we afford and who won't have too much interest from other Premiership sides.

I would suggest Bardsley, Murphy and maybe Healy might be gettable but I only think Bardsley and murphy would be required.

I agree with both Bardsley and Murphy. Murphy could play wide left and upfront, but I don't expect us to sign a striker/forward until Henderson leaves.
I would agree with Bardsley but only as a loan.

If Nosworthy signs I want us to get Bartley as back up although that sounds though it could be De Merit.
Get the lad Dickinson to compete with Taylor
a right back
Halford after taht would be a bonus

I would be ready for the new season then

I can't see him smashing the wage structure all the big earners are being sold off.

Bardsley will be a good signing if we could get him, and sort out wages. Surely we couldn't get Norsworthy and Bardsley for cheap wages?
