A young player making the step up, in his first season with us, thrown into an ever changing back four with a different keeper every couple of weeks.
Bit of a baptism of fire don't you think?
He's not young, he's 24, probably two years off his peak (I would say a professional starts to peak around 26) and to call what he did last season "making the step up" is giving him far too much credit. I didn't see any signs that he will develop into a competent left back. Poor positioning, poor strength, poor pace and poor technique.
He did put a cross in once and made a tackle another time too. People can probably remember both of these incidents, which in itself says a lot.
