Losing 1-0 at half time to Wigan. Drew v Reading in mid week. Surely, surely they aren’t going to bottle it?

Got the Pigs and Villa still to play. I think I’m clutching at too many straws. I definitely am.

If we can’t sort our own shit out and play our free flowing attacking game then we’ve no need to worry about any other fucker.
Yep, that's the top and bottom of it. Typical for others to open the door and we don't even notice, dare I say the Blades way

As I said on another thread it isn't over if we can beat Forest on Friday. Wigan visit Leeds fighting for survival.

Trouble is, the emphasis has changed from worrying about other teams and what they can or can't do to worrying about us, our injuries and form, that's the problem.

Wouldn’t mind a Norwich equaliser here. Win and they probably feel the Leeds game doesn’t require them to get s result. Draw and they’ll still be needing something.

EDIT: just seen they’ve equalised!

I watched Wendy v weeds..........Norwich have nothing to worry about.

Funny how our players and manager are bottlers and worse after a draw away at Birmingham and a draw at home to Millwall, when Norwich have just drawn at home to Reading and away at Wigan. Very similar pairs of fixtures. Those 2 United performances were poor, but it does show that this League is a difficult one, and that simple knee-jerk reactions are wide of the mark.

The difference being that Norwich have the breathing room.

Had we got 3/4 more points from somewhere I doubt they would be looking so good...

Has Daniel Farke got another coat?? He must wear it when he goes to bed. He looks like he needs a good wash as well, the scruffy cunt. And I bet his shit stinks as well.

Yes I was thinking that. Draw is best result for us. Now they visit Leeds desperate for points. I wouldn't write Wigan off. After relegating us all those seasons ago helping us get back up would be something. Of course we have to beat Forest but we can. Billy looked like he needed a rest past few games. Hogan and Madine have it all to play for

Of course the difference between there position and ours is huge. All I am saying is that immediately calling our players bottlers and worse after those 2 games is based on an assumption that top teams always beat relegation candidates. Certainly in the Championship, that is not the case, and you don't have to look for simple explanations like bottling it. Give credit to Brum and Millwall for making it difficult for us, and curse the footballing gods for doing Billy's hamstring yesterday and not Pukki's today. Or the ref not giving us a free-kick in the last minute, and the linesman flagging Leon offside at the end today. Fine margins, unless you are totally unplayable.

That's not why I'm calling our players bottlers. I'm calling them bottlers because from minute 60 yesterday they looked shit scared and unable to play like we know they can.

We had an opportunity yesterday to put the pressure on Leeds, but couldn't handle the pressure ourselves.

You could be right, but I suspect the explanation is much more complicated, and to do with teams getting better at dealing with our style of play, physical and mental tiredness, etc. Some of the decision-making yesterday was poor, which suggests mental tiredness, and if the injuries to Basham and Sharp are indeed hamstring problems, that suggests bodies that have been stretched to the limit. It can also be the case that over-achievers are accused of being bottlers; it was often the case with Henman at tennis, where he was regularly accused of bottling big matches. In fact he over-achieved in competitions, and was beaten in the end by more talented and physically stronger opponents. You could say we have played to the top of our potential this season, and the players have shown great mental strength to achieve what they have. It strikes me as unkind to describe this set of players as bottlers.

The last few games when we've gone ahead we just seem to implode, can't hold the ball and have zero attacking ingenuity at all. We seem to get ourselves ahead then be fearful of taking gambles in the opponents half. He's hoping we just fucking go for it these last 4 games, we have to throw the kitchen sink these next few games and hope to the old gods & the new that Leeds slip up

People are also forgetting that the only reason Birmingham are anywhere near the relegation zone is because they had 9 points deducted. In reality they are a better side than their league position suggests and an away draw against them is not a bad result.

Not for a team going for automatic promotion.
