Well done again Richard Stearman. What a great signing Tufty. The present back three are a very formidable unit.

Delighted with all the new boys. A very pleasing and interesting few months ahead, I suggest.

Pleased both Wilson and The Don scored. It might prevent hysteria from those with unstable knees.

❤️⚔️

Ground it out. Great stuff.

Needed it too with all them teams on our tails. Nice to see Dirty Leeds fuck it up tho.

how did the new boys do? from what I saw I liked the look of lee Evans, looked composed on the ball.

For some reason we had Radio Norwich commentary over the iFollow stream. They were moaning like fuck about our lads diving in the last 10 minutes...makes victory all the sweeter!

Excellent win but should have been far more comfortable with the amount of chances what we created (and then wasted) in the first half. Great approach play but poor decision making / quality in the final third again apart from Clayton who demonstrated some great composure to slot home.

Once we sort out our set piece and long range shooting we will get back to the results that we saw the first half of the season.

Well done today Blades.

Didn't really think he looked any better than Lundstram tbh.

Fleck on the other hand was excellent.

55 seconds from when Norwich kicked off to scoring their goal - I’ve just timed it . They never make it easy for my achey breaky heart! Only 55 seconds when it slowed down all afternoon!

Thought we looked very solid in the middle - a lot more than of late. Wilson and Evans were good - a bit disappointed with Leonard after the build up, but time will tell.

Bring on Villa - and let’s have a Cup run for a bit of fun - these games are too stressful!

Magic Days

the next 3 league game are what promotion was all about last season.

villa, wolves an't dirties at home bring it on , happy days.

We should have been more comfortable at the end, but who cares – that was a hell of a fun game to be in the stands for. Maddison continued from his antics at the Lane to throw himself on the ground at the faintest touch, and that ultimately set the tone for us giving them an overdose of their own medicine 2nd half to the cheers of “take your time, take your time, Sheff United”. It also continued after the game, with Sharp doing a full Klinsmann dive in front of the Norwich fans as the subs got stick while they were warming down.

As for the game, for the most part our swagger was back. I thought Evans had a really good game. Leonard was steady (and took over the deeper role Evans had when Lundstram came on). Stearman excellent at the back alongside an iffy Basham. Fleck the outstanding player on the pitch. Wilson encouraging, with a great finish. Donaldson calm up front. Mixed bag for Clarke, but won a couple of great free-kicks in injury time.

Quick ratings

Moore 7/10 – think the goal was a tough one for him to get at. Alert when needed.

Baldock & Stevens 7/10 – a bit less wasteful today. Think Stevens was the one that hit the post early in the 2nd half.

Stearman 8/10 – excellent
JOC 7.5/10 – solid
Basham 6/10 – not bad surging forward, but defensively had a few dodgy moments. One cracking tackle 2nd half.

Evans 8/10 – really liked the look of him.
Leonard 7/10 – quietly effective. Liked the fact that he and Evans aren’t afraid to shoot.
Fleck 9/10 – MOTM. Really excellent game.

Wilson 7.5/10 – looked bright, used the ball well, great finish.
Clarke 6/10 – touch was poor at times, and didn’t seize on the chances he had. Some excellent winning of free-kicks at the death.

Subs
Donaldson 7.5/10 – calm as you like with the finish. Scared their defence from the moment he came on.
Lundstram 7/10 – some important touches when he came on.

My god they were bad at the back. We saw more of the pressing high up the pitch, forced them into numerous errors.

Great game that. We’re back!

Yes, of course I'm serious, I wouldn't have posted it otherwise. If we were a far better team than Norwich then our recent results and performances would have been better.
But as I said, it's the championship and owt can happen.

No doubt we were lucky today to get something from that one.... ;)

Old ye of little faith.

Solid performance. Still think we're conceeding too many but with our style of play, its unfortunately always going to be a risk.

I don’t mind as long as we concede one less than the opposition

Very good and Agenda-free. Glad you enjoyed it and share your optimism.

How was Lenny at RCB?... :)

Apologies, forgot to comment on the referee today. At times he made some ok decisions, but overall poor, so I think James Maddison might be sent to a League 1 game next week.

General thoughts:

Moore made a couple of good stops, inc one from a well-hit free kick. Some good claims also. Good, steady game.

Defence was mostly excellent. Stearman won everything in the air. Baldock got forward well, but stevens hits it high and long too often for my liking.

We won the ball well in midfield, and passed it about in periods. We let them have too much of it towards the end of both halves. Still think we can be more penetrative in midfield and look to exploit gaps, as Fleck aside we dont do this enough.

James Wilson was bright, nice poachers goal. Clarke worked hard but didnt use his strength and space as well as he has before. May be due a rest for a game or two, hard to drop though. Donaldson was excellent, consistently won the ball and cool finish for his goal.

One worry is we definitely stand off opposition too much just outside the box. This is a mistake as this is the area where they have to make key attacking decisions, giving them more time to do so makes it more likely they'll be able to make the right ball, or get a decent shot away.
We need to push them more in this area to force them into hurried passes or making mistakes.

Overall, over the moon with the win. They had it coming to them after the game at BL earlier in the season.
