Bergen Blade , your thoughts?

Norway were poor and at times overrun by an impressive Austria side. We've got some good young players coming through now, but they are yet to gel as a team. Obviously Martin Ødegard was missed, we've been looking for him to create things, and Norway looked clueless going forward when giving the ball to him wasn't an option. Service to the strikers was poor and maybe it would have been better to go with an extra man in midfield, but the manager is a 4-4-2 man and we've got three good strikers, so it's always going to be tempting to play at least two of them. King's been our main attacking threat for years, but he had a poor game.

Berge did ok overall, played more of a holding role than he's been doing for the Blades. Difficult for him to do a lot more in a team that struggled most of the game. Tried to be calm on the ball, and passed ok, but Austria were usually all over our players and we never found any sort of rhythm. His header wasn't far off, but his heading technique isn't great. In general I think Berge looks in good shape and ready for the new campaign.

Penalty decision was ridiculous in my opinion.

I read the title of this thread twice and still thought "why the hell are they giving their views?" and it was only when I opened it up that I realised this wasn't a view from Norwich.

Cheers Panchero!

£100million Berge? Really?? Can't we find a buyer sharpish?

Seriously, looking forward to the young lad show his worth this season. An undoubted class player, and I hope he, and the rest of the squad, have learnt lessons from last season that help us to improve this term.

Sorry you guys lost, always like to see Norway do well after Fjortoft - wish we'd bought Fjortoft back in 1993 instead of Flo to be honest! Anyway that's the past and I haven't watched Norway much of late but have heard good things and seems Norway are much improved in the last year. I know that Berge is supposed to be more natural at the deeper role, but from what I've seen he seems at his best when he can drive from the right side of midfield which is where he's played for us of course.

Cant find any decent highlights? All the best v Northern Ireland.

Did they review in English or did you translate ?

first home defeat in, i think, 4 years. Norway got it tactically wrong with Austria playing extremely high with extreme pressure, credit to the Austrians, much improved side. RB Salzburg and Lask Linz european progress seems to improve their players. Wouldn't mind a couple of the Austrians at BDTBL................Sabitzer of RB Leipzig great

International languages bring out the best in Roy, quality views them.

Sander went down injured (knee) during the Austria game, but played on. He's now unlikely to be fit for tomorrow's match against Northern Ireland. Hope it's nothing serious.

Most probably withdrawn for the game against Nth Ireland, twisted his knee friday night, hopefully ready for Wolves.

Yes, nasty twist. Could have been a lot worse actually. Hopefully ok in a couple of days.

As for the rest of the discussions here :

After 60 minutes, when Norway started playing football, Berge had a couple of situations where he forcedribbled his way past people again. He is like a overgrown Jedi when he does that, but THAT is what I want him to do, like, 500% more of it in every game. Berge should also work some on his headers, he should have scored. But he have some really great runs some times. He could do more of those runs, more of the jedi dribbles going deep into the opponents half and be a little bit more aggressiveness/ruthlessness in general in both pressing and general play. I guess Wilder has some thoughts on how to improve him this season and I fully expect him to continue his development. Will be fun to watch Sheff U this season. Good luck lads :)

I like 'overgrown Jedi' very much 🤣

Saw the tackle where he received the injury. It was early in the second half but he played till the end. The other player basically rolled over his knee from the side. Didn’t look too nice but he is a strong lad.

Can’t help but read in a Nordic accent for some reason

Indeed, a bit like reading the works of John Cooper Clarke and not dropping into a Manc accent

To be honest myself, I'd have happily seen us sign Morten Harket rather than Flo!
